I've become seriously addicted to Poker since taking it up about 2 weeks ago! What a game :-) Been watching all the Poker I can on Sky (Challenge TV), downloading episodes of WSOP from the net, brought loads of Poker stuff for home and playing online.

Played in the Football Supporters Freeroll tonight representing SUFC and finished 5th out of 108 players! Not bad for my first real tournament.

My ambition is to get to the WSOP or WPT televised finals sometime next year. Its not totally unrealistic as many players on the TV shows have only been playing 6 months just on the net and end up winning hundreds of thousands of dollars!

I play on PartyPoker - most of you guys that play are on Ladbrokes is that right?

I play on the bet365 poker. got $200 freeroll everyday at 1pm, got $1,000 freeroll every night at 6pm and on saturday's you've got the $5,000 freeroll at 8pm winner taking $950 and pays up to 300th place usualy get about 6,000 people entering and usualy lasts about 5 hours. Havent played on the one your talking about yet but I mite give it a go soon! I've been playing for about 2 months. Best ive done in a tournement was I came 7th in a $1 entry tournement with 2500 people winning about $25

Bought a book from WHSmiths the other day called the complete guid to poker for £9.99 which ive found really good!

I play William Hill & Pacific Poker.

With William Hill, you can play for £'s, and the tournaments start from as little as £1 with a 20p buy-in. You can also deposit as little as £2.

Pacific Poker are doing free roll satallites now and again for the UK Open.

Not a huge fan of Laddy's to be honest.

Too many feeder tournies IMO.

bet365 is the place i used a fair bit although i also dont like the crappy re-buy tournies much either.

1. Folded when you had the option to check

2. Placed an over-bet of $160k+ to try and buy the pot despite not having a good hand

3. Bet a small amount that got raised and you didn't call

I'll get it off my chest.

Flop comes Q 2 2.

Turn 3.

I have raised with Aces and after the turn there is $80 in pot. I bet $25 and get raised (all in) for $55 ($30 to call) ... accidently press fold.

If he had the 2 he would have been abused. But $30 to call in a pot of $140 is stupid anyway really even with half a hand, if if your drawing to a straight or flush!

Im p%&sed off now. Still made a profit but instead of leaving with $130 it could have been $300. Was playing some good stuff as well so now trying the $25 FZ ...

Bet365 for me as well. Word of warning though, dont play when tiddly. Got into a expensive round of betting the other night, won $96 then $105 and started getting cocky. Next hand gives me something worth a punt, got silly and rumped for $275.00. Got out of that table a bit sharpish.

Yeah it means The General was on tilt....

Seriously - up till about a week or so ago, I though the ladbrokes poker site had gone to hell - the turbo games weren't turbo, it was often impossible to find a tourney, especially a 5 dollar, 5 player one...BUT, suddenly overnight it totally improved, plenty of tourneys, turbo games were working again and no lag!!

I guess they have done something to improve their IT infra-structure or something - I'm glad I stayed now.

Bet365 - OK site but you only get 1000 chips in your tourneys- - I prefer Ladbrokes who give you 1500!!

PartyPoker - I tried this and didn't like the playability at all!

I realise now its not PartyPoker, but PokerStars! Ah well... playing for money now and have left every table/competition in profit so far.

Well pleased with what I have learned so far from books and playing and its now my ambition to appear on World Poker Tour next year!

I brought some World Poker Tour chips from drinkstuff.com - absolute quality - if you want chips, get these ones (little pricey, but totally worth it!).

Must admit after playing a few different ones, i do prefer laddy's and have great success in the mt's there.........................actually maybe that is why i prefer it

I hate re-buy tourneys thats why I don't play down the casinos. Much better at the MGM Grand in Vegas where it was $60 buy-in and that was that!!
