PMQs yesterday

President
Yesterday, Cameron went on the assault in Parliament over Baby P:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7724541.stm

Ed Balls in turn issued this statement today:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7726103.stm

How do you see it? Was Brown trying to avoid the issue or right to not get irate? Was Cameron merely trying to look concerned for political gain? Was it disrespectful to squabble in such a manner from the off given the sensitivity of the issue?

I'll withhold my views for now, you lucky people...

honestly they are idiots.

recently wacthed a news item where brown and his cronies visited a school, brown had 1 tennis serve and ed balls almost come in his pants.

jeez and these are running the country.

Standard trick to get political points out of tragedy. probably assisted by Haringey being a Labour council (maj of 3 over the Lib dems).

Also Cameron got his facts wrong

"In the Commons earlier Mr Cameron had urged the government to intervene saying it was "completely unacceptable" that an internal review into Baby P's death had been undertaken by the council's own children's services director.

He said "nobody is taking responsibility, nobody has resigned" and added of the woman in charge of the review: "She cannot possibly investigate the failure of her own department." "

The review (see the link in the other thread) was carried out by the Local Safeguarding Childerns Board (An inter-agency forum for agreeing how the different services and professional groups should co-operate to safeguard children and young people in Haringey) The current Chair happens to head of Childrens service but they commissioned an external company to carry out the review overssen by the Government office for London

Disrespectful points scoring imho

One interesting issue which sort of crosses two threads on here in the past week or so

from the Review

2.1.8 The exception to the above apparently reassuring perception was an incident in March 2007, when Ms A was seen to slap her eldest child. This child was consequently made subject of a child protection plan in March 2007.

Had this been reported in March 2007 would it have been seen as heavy handedness in the media
(of which i am hearing rather perturbing stories of how the media are currently conducting , lets say rather underhand, reporting)
