First XI
Hi Sorry if this has already been done but i cant seem to find it?

Just wondering views on starting 11 & also how many we may take ? i believe these kinds of games separate the fans & the hardcore fans as its a mission lol
i have a sneaky feeling Fred will start with BBBC on the bench

I`m going - suspect both B & F will be on bench unless the injury list grows

This whole RM issue seems to have taken everyone's attention away from the Game on Saturday i guess rightly so, i will be making the trip for the first time and must say im not looking forward to being on the coach for 12-13 hrs or so :S

Are we likley to take a decent amount for the game? wouldn't want a boring away day lol

Trying to sort out travel but want to go by train and not happy with the prices. Should have booked earlier.

Smith (if fit)/ Bentley
Clohessy - Cresswell - Prosser - Barker
Hurst - Spicer - Timlin - Martin
Assombalonga - FREDDYYYYYYYYYYYY

Subs: Smith/ Bentley - Straker - Phillips (if fit)/ Coughlan - Leonard - BBBC - Tomlin (if fit)/ Njie - Benyon

Although I thought Bentley done well for a GK's full debut, if Smith if ready then put him straight back in. Experience over potential all day. Benyon to the bench as he spent most of the first half on the floor and for what he played of the second half had no service. Freddy scared the **** out of Exeter so straight swap. Back 4 the same as I thought apart from the goal they were very solid and would like to see some consistency to our team line ups now. I would give Spicer 2 more games to improve. If the poor performances continue then either Leonard to come in for a traight swap or Hurst to revert to CM and a RM to come in (Leonard, Tomlin?). I think that lineup has the potential to get about 3 goals if I'm being honest.

Personally would start same side as Sat with exception of Smith for Bentley who was faultess but you need an experienced keeper. Freddy clearly needs to come into play at some point but I think he needs to come back slowly. Same with Bazza. Great options to have....

Hope Freddy is there from the start as he's been talking about his sharpness. Would love to see BBBC involved at some point as I haven't seen him since he bagged a couple v Hereford at home the season before last. Looking forward to it - first game since Torquay in April and it's the nearest game I can see from here in Penzance. Look forward to seeing some of you lot too.

I would start with a straight 4-4-2 and hope that this includes Tomlin - giving us the chance to move to a 4-5 1 if necessary ......... and then have Eastwood on in the 2nd half and if necessary Corr come the last 20 minutes.

Hope the injury list is much improved come Saturday ...................

This will be Sean Clohessy's 100th appearance in the League for Southend. He has only missed one League match since joining us, which was due to his suspension after being sent off at Bradford on Good Friday this year.

We haven't won at Home Park for 13 years, although Paul Sturrock has never lost a match against his former side.

There should be goals in the game. We have failed to score against Plymouth only twice in the last 28 years. They were slow to get off the scoring mark, just like us, at the start of the season, but, just like us, since their first League goal at the end of August, they have only had one match without scoring. Worryingly, we have kept a clean sheet only once all season.

Whilst we have only one defeat in our last seven matches in all competitions, Plymouth have won only one of their last six League games at home. Sections of their home support were critical of their players during their last home outing, a 1-1 draw with Bristol Rovers. Plymouth manager Carl Fletcher responded by saying:

I was disappointed with the way the fans got on some of the lads' backs straight away. They're all young and nobody's perfect. It's easy to sit there and have a moan. I've got Luke Young and Conor Hourihane, aged 19 and 21, in midfield and Matty Lecointe is only 17 - they all need encouragement.

I'll go for a 2-2 draw, Freddy and Britt the scorers.

Freddy is fit. Leave on bench - nope. Terrified Exeter so certainly will Plymouth

Smith
Clohessy Cresswell Phillips (if fit) Barker
Hurst Spicer Timlin Tomlin (if fit) (Hurst & Tomlin can swap wings)
Freddy Assombalonga

Definitely start with Freddy now IMO... He's chomping at the bit... Scored a goal, got momentum and maybe even has his mojo back... Confidence is everything at times and it is reinforced by actions... If his ready, his ready.
Though all that said more than happy to trust PS on this, just hope Freddy can!

Agreed. Bring Freddy on for 30mins versus a tiring Plymouth and he'll scare them ****less.

He'll scare them more if he starts rather than Benyon running around like a headless chicken. Corr can be our weapon on the bench.

On another thread someone queried why Sturrock didn't do a BP interview. This is a hunch but is he already down in Devon as he's no stranger in that neck of the woods.
