Being abroad means I don't go to games and so I check games when I can on the BBC live text. Quick look today and I see we are 2 - 0 at half time. Very nice. There I am thinking we will pound Plymouth as a reaction to the Swindon loss. Then I check in at full time and apparently we conceded two goals in the last 5 minutes??? How the heck does that happen?

As the man with a bar of soap up his arse said, "That's Lifebuoy".

I feel your pain. I was about to fly home from Tel Aviv during the game and as we were boarding I checked my other half's iPhone and learned we were 2-0 up with 20 minutes to go. Felt good. Due to the snow we didn't make Luton and had to touch down in Amsterdam instead. Enough stress there already so I wanted some comfort in confirming we'd won, so when she refreshed the BBC website and gasped "oh no!" (bless her), my heart sank like it hadn't done at hearing a Southend result for quite some time. Admittedly I was gutted when I found out the scoreline against Swindon on Tuesday whilst on a night out in Jerusalem but I half-expected that. This was much worse.

I can understand what you are saying, when you're getting the results, without the background picture. However, against Plymouth it sounded as if we dominated the first half.........then took our foot off the pedal failed to kill them off and showboated a bit in the send period, falling to the sucker puch of two goals in the last four minutes with poor, sloppy defending. Tuesday, we were out-thought, out-classed and out-played us by one of our main promotion rivals..........now, on reflection, which do you think was worse???

I largely meant the circumstances in which I found out the result, which is why I responded to this thread (I should have ended "felt much worse"). Having not checked the score until 4.30GMT on Saturday and learning we were winning 2-0 and doing what was required after the Swindon game, I assumed upon landing four hours later that I'd be seeing us back at the top of the League 2 table. Finding out we'd blown the opportunity in the closing stages was gut-wrenching.

Obviously reading about the Swindon game (which I did on the Wednesday) was depressing but at the time of the game I had more opportunities to check the score so my frustration levels were better controlled.

I did understand what you meant ......tried to put that over in my first sentence ........probably not that well. I suppose no matter how you look at it ...........it's been a thoroughly depressing fortnight and I don't know about the team, but my confidence has taken a BIG knock.
