Players' Songs

[SW17 Blue]

One of the highlights for me yesterday was pre-match, each player taking the pitch and receiving an ovation from the gathering masses! These players deserve it and maybe some new songs. I know you only get a song going by starting it at a match, blah, blah, blah but you always think of a new one in the car on the way home when it's all too late...

So, the tune of Blue Moon:

Wayne Gray!

Surprised sufcintheprem hasn't mentioned it (actually i'm not, cos it's rubbish) but we thought up a quality one for wayne gray as well.

To the tune of ymca, sing the intro, but instead of 'young man', sing 'wayne gray'.... and then it stops there. bit stupid, but we were creasing up in the car singing it on the way to cambridge.

I have come up with a song for Bart Giemink that that is sung to the tune of 'Wind of change' by the Scorpions with the whistling bits and everything.

If anyone wants to join in at the Bristol Rovers game let me know.

What I liked yesterday, was that every player in the match day squad did a little warm up exercise in the circle and the other 15 followed what he did. Showed a real togetherness. Similiar to what happens at Chelsea. Each player there does a pre-match talk with the players.

I feel it gives everyone a sense of importance.

I got two chants going yesterday......Spacehopper, spacehopper, when their groundsman came out with a fat gut and a Cambridge shirt five sizes too small! And are you Bramble in disguise to the mascot. I also did the wheres your gutteridge gone bit...great atmosphere yesterday...bring back the north Bank NOW!!!!
