Play Offs here we come

Why is everyone so downhearted on here after todays defeat (the first in 14 games)? If I had told you on Jan 1st that we would have been comfortably in the play offs, you would have bitten both my arms off. Lets get right behind the blues next week as a win would set us up nicely for the play offs

UTB!!

We can't finish any higher than 5th, we have to get a result to make sure Leeds can't finish above us although that will be a moot point if they get their points back.

Today was a minor setback we had to lose eventually.

Am i the only one? who is Happy the results went the way they did today, as if us and leeds win our semi finals we play them at wembley.

I say Bring it On.

I've been looking forward to a Friday night trip to Nottingham Forest but today's results have rather changed things. Likely to be A Friday night in Carlisle now!! Will fancy our chances against them right now as they are really having a slump and can see Bournemouth winning there to pull off the greatest escape of alltime.

Yes and soften them up still further for our next possible visit.

Their goalkeeper though is the one drawback to playing Carlisle. He was superb at RH ealier in the season and for me their MOM.

Their left winger looked a threat up there a week ago and Francis will be a key player for us in keeping him as quiet as possible. May have to do more defending and makes our right winger's task little more difficult perhaps.

Sure T & B will have noticed the threat and suspect our managerial are better equipped than theirs.

They like us have a small squad and have done well to get where they have.

I'd prefer Carlisle over two legs, as I believe we are far better equipped to deal with their long ball physical game, as proved last week. Also Raven will be missing and they had another sending off yesterday, with Livsey taking the early bath this time.

i was hoping for the automatics (i know a long shot) but I'm glad we won't be playing Leeds in the semi's now
(unless they get 5 points back, win on saturday and forest and carlise don't)

as pretty sure the atmosphere at Elland Road would play a massive factor not really in our favour. Lets beat them at Wembley now!!

i would much prefer to play carlisle over 2 legs having watched them at millwall on saturday you could see that they we're still in shock after our last minute win up there last week, playing against a team fighting for survival they got out played from minute 1, which is very surprising considering they we're going for automatic promotion

I'm not downhearted by yesterday's result at all, particularly as results elsewhere went against us anyway. In fact, it could even be a blessing in disguise.

While Donny, Carlisle and Forest battle it out gung-ho for the remaining promotion place next week, we now have the luxury of being able to rest key players for the play-offs. In fact, I'd seriously consider the option of putting out a virtual reserve side next week. Surely the Port Vale game would be an ideal occasion to give the likes of Liptak, Herd and Scannell full debuts, for example.

I too was at Millwall yesterday and look forward to playing Carlisle !! They were awful , confidence was shot and another sending off. Their keeper Westwood was brilliant , it could have been 6 or 7 if it wasn't for him and Millwall continuing to play Baz Savage up front !

Am pretty sure the atmos Leeds could create at Wembley would silence any attempts by us.... Maybe even more so than at Elland Road!!!

I echo what most are saying, of the possible opposition I think Carlisle are the ones we want, I fancy our chances with their current form, save Leeds or Forest for under the arch at Wembley.
