Rang the jobbo hotline this morning and the pitch is find and no concerns for tomorrow

Don't think there's been as much snow in Southend as there was Rayleigh/Hockley

I live quite close to the ground and it's all pretty much melted. Should be fine.

Was a good 4 cm of snow this morning in Southend around 6-30am. By time I got to station you could see it melting away already.

Which is awesome as I dressed for winter and now in the office wearing winter gear sweating my nads off....

supposed to be coming down where I am from around 2 in the morning till mid morning - if it snows for that long then it has to settle - don't know about southend area but I'm not that far away.

They to need preempt snow and make sure the pitch is covered. It's not cold enough to freeze so game should go ahead

trouble with just covering it is that if it does snow heavily, you then have literally tonnes of snow to shift from the covers before you can move the covers off the pitch. the snow needs somewhere to go and plenty of people to clear it.

The problem these days generally isn't the pitch but access to the ground.

not much. still involves a lot of man power. only difference is you risk damage to thousands of £ worth of pitch cover instead of the pitch.
