Pick your League One 16

MrB

Life President
Simple concept. Three seasons in League One have come to an end, if all the players were available to you what would your matchday 16 be? Straight 4-4-2 for the starting XI. For the purposes of the list I've only included players who played more than 10 games during our time in League One. There was a lot of crud to sift out as you can imagine!!

There's 43 players listed below but for info a total of 70 players have pulled on the jersey in the last three seasons (plus whatever youth players may appear against Stockport and Southampton).

Surprised at just how many strikers we've used in three seasons!!

Goalkeepers
Adam Federici
Darryl Flahavan
Steve Collis
Steve Mildenhall

Full Backs
Charlie Mulgrew
Dan Harding
Johnny Herd
Lewis Hunt
Osei Sankofa
Simon Francis
Steven Hammell
Scott Malone

Centre Backs
Adam Barrett
Dorian Dervite
Garry Richards
Jean-Yves Mvoto
Pat Baldwin
Peter Clarke

Wide Midfielders
Damien Scannell
Francis Laurent
Hal Robson-Kanu
Kevin Betsy
Mark Gower
Tommy Black

Central Midfielders
Anthony Grant
Alan McCormack
Franck Moussa
Jean-Francois Christophe
Kevin Maher
Lee Sawyer
Nicky Bailey

Strikers
Alex Revell

Subs, Flahavan, Barrett, Moussa, Grant, Freedman. (Laurent and Hunt if 7 subs permitted)

This team would be worthy winners of league 1.

I'd probably go pretty much the same, although I may have Robson-Kanu ahead of Scannell, It's only been since the turn of the year that Scannell looked pretty decent.

Great thread and very difficult to reply to! Although, shouldn't it be a sqaud of 18?

I would go with this.

Federici

Francis
Dervite
Barrett
Mulgrew

Robson-Kanu
Bailey
Maher
Gower

Barnard
Robinson

Subs:
Flahavan
Hunt
Baldwin
Laurent
Grant
L. Clarke
Revell

The list of wide midfielders really is poor, proves that we never really replaced Gower.

The strikers list is similarly shocking. MacDonald and Hooper wouldn't make the bench as I am judging my choices based on how the players played at Southend, not elsewhere.

What stands out for me is the numbers of loan players, not only in the list, but appearing in fans 16 elect. Another damning indictment of Ron's lack of investment into the club.
