It's of course good to be positive, and Mr Brown is not one to lack self confidence...In my view he is probably correct in his assessment about the squad too....But he is certainly ramping up expectation here and I do so hope he delivers this time!!

..... Unless it is in Hurst's position which is guaranteed for him no matter what... or how pantz he is playing, or how off form he is!

We only had 2 wingers for the majority of last season. The amount of good games Straker had could be counted on one hand!

One big difference from last year is that last time around we did not have strength in depth so rotating players meant invariably weakening the team. So we over played people and when the heavy winter pitches came we suffered.

This year we have more depth in terms of quality and can rotate people and keep them fresher and fitter- and if you don't perform there is a strong replacement in the wings. I am sure this will help.

I am also confident that whatever with the people we have we will be playing good football and have plenty of pace and skill on the pitch.

Of course 4th rather than 7th doesn't help us- needs to be top three. However, I believe he has done everything possbile to get the right players available to both go up and entertain at the same time.

You see I disagree with you on the strength in depth point. You are spot on about players being knackered....especially the midfield. ...yet brown just would not rest them...with clifford and laird on the bench I would argue we could have rested lenny and atkinson especially.
