I've noticed a few commonalities between the two:

1) Revered at old club (Liverpool/Hull)
2) Not instantly liked at current club
3) Probably hired to get best out of highest wage-earner (Torres/Eastwood), who weren't signed by manager but by chairman
4) Healthy glow to visage/sometime facial hair wearer

Any more for any more?

5) Both had the same league results after taking charge - draw, draw and defeat.
6) Both lost a cup final within a month of taking charge without scoring in the final too.

7) Both work for Chairman / Owners who have limitless amounts of money..................................no , forget that one.....

*Both are fondly remembered by fans of previous Northern club, but not taken in by fans of their current Southern clubs.
*Both are able to get tanned quickly when they go 'home'.
*Both a managing teams in blue
*Both took over from managers who were fan-favourites.

Is Phil Brown actually that unpopular? We have an experienced manager who we should perhaps judge when he has succeeded or failed with players who he will sign and not with somebody else's team. One big difference is that PB will be in his present job come the start of next season whilst Benitez won't be.

Lapsing into 'differences' now , which if I'm not mistaken , is the complete opposite of what the thread asked ?????

Both are men
Both do not come from the town where they manage

God this is pointless, is this what my life has come to:'(

I would strongly like to disassociate myself with this comment.

I think PB has done fine, 5 league games only one defeat and arguably the one game on paper we should have we did, under PS we would have lost last night. I like the look and shape of the team and he has Fred playing better and with a smile on his face for the first time this season. I fancy is to win both remaining games as well.
