If this happens , would the smart money be to place bet on Chrissy Powell as next SUFC manager right now .

Southend manager Phil Brown is now 9/1 from 80/1 to be the next Crystal Palace manager with 14/1 available -> http://bit.ly/BetVictor-OC

Ridiculous odds - should be three figures at least.

Why would Palace want or need a manager who has won nothing for ages and has lost more games than he's won in the last four and a half years in the lower divisions. Hardly Premiership potential.

Harsh but fair !

Phil would need a biblical miracle to ever manage in the top flight again.

1. Palace Theatre Westcliff - he is a lover of the arts I assume?

2. Is he getting a knighthood?

3. Is he doing backing vocals for Will Oldham?

Perhaps we could have an open thread for 'Phil Brown at ..............?' Thus we shall cover for all managerial vacancies that appear in any club above League Two during this season.

For those in the turf accountancy industry, how much would his agent have had to put on to move the odds that much?

Didn't stop West Ham employing Allardyce

This basically means a decent sized bet has gone on, can't see it personally, we know Phil is doing a decent job but he's not done anything to make the football world sit up and take notice since Hull and until he does he won't be getting top flight jobs

Isn't it pretty much impossible to do that on these kinds of specials. I doubt anyone would take a grand on it. uncle leo will know.

Well if anyone believes that this is possible they'd be stupid to back Phil at 14/1 bookies odds when you can currently get 59/1 at Betfair......

Palace yesterday asked Chelsea to speak to their coach Dermot Drummy for job as manager. His odds went from 200/1 to 10/1. That is more likely to happen as they are actually after him. But he may not leave Chelsea as he is being paid Zillions. Hence why he is not lower in price. Neil Lennon is apparently next on their wish list.

PS Fulham won't be interested either !
