I'll kick off the quarter-finals now with Peter Watson up against Trevor Roberts, even though we still have one tie outstanding (Halse v Hamilton). As players should by now need no introduction, I'll include a poll straight away.

No contest realy, nowt wrong with Roberts, but Watson would figure in most fans altime team at centre back.

It's got to be Trev.
For once, the heart has to rule the head.
Although, I remember Peter Watson well enough alongside the likes of Terry Bradbury, Trev was an educated footballer - he had a degree from Liverpool Uni, and was therefore articulate and charming.
If memory serves, he had a part-time teaching gig at Timberlog School in Basildon.
He also played in the team that famously beat Swindon in the FA Cup in 1968, and died tragically young.
Because all these polls are subjective - there was more to this Blues keeper than performances on the pitch.

This is absolutely spot on, playing devil's advocate here, I did meet Trevor on many occasions due to my work and he was a true gentleman, a charming and most affable man, who was educated and had time for everyone. I have voted now for the better player PW but this is purely subjective I know. If we are looking for the all time, kindest gentleman player then Trevor must figure right up there at the top.
