Breaking News Pepple recalled by Luton

It happens some fans need to remember they are loan players! Like Orient with Moncur i doubt they would have liked him not playing and still paying wages. Luton have the right to call him back and loan him out to a league 1/2 side or even throw him in the first team. There are players out there trust the scouting team and management to make the right decisions! Wasn't we linked to a Cashman? Is Hopper playing at Col U?
Tom was out injured for a short while but is normally in the squad, he is often played deep behind the strikers because he is big, strong and works very hard. The Cowleys love his work ethic, but because he often plays behind the likes of Lyle Taylor and Samson Tovide some of our fans criticise him for not scoring enough goals.

COSU need to get the chequebook out. Our 4 pronged strike-force now has a grand total of 2 goals between them this season. Even worse is the one striker who has scored those 2 goals is injured (again)

I’d rather not see Cards back as well, unless it’s a very cheap loan. We need to be looking forwards not back. We’ve done too much of that.

In fairness to Kev, this is why he's always said he doesn't like to recruit loanees.

Moncur could have played a blinder for 6 months and been recalled as well. It's the huge downfall of the loanee system and also when you rely on that loanee so heavily.

We wouldn't have relied on him so much if we actually brought in a true replacement for Cardwell on a permanent basis. We couldn't do that because of the lateness of the window, but COSU need to do that now. We needed another striker even if Bim was staying, let alone now!
I think thats a good point , about RELYING on that one ( or two ) Loanee heavily?

We knew about the break clause in Bims contract and Kev has been talking about getting more players in for months. Presumably there is/was contingency planning in place, especially if you know you have the second smallest squad in the league. The loan departure, the injuries are going to amplify problems

Not sure if Kev doesnt like loanees, we seem to have accepted thats the case, but if it is , that perspective can also bite you on the nethers

Heres a different approach and perspective

1. York city league leaders brought in 11 Loanees this season , currently retain 5 of them i believe. (Ones gone, so what., next ? ) Wages shared, a lot of players get looked at, Your squad is a decent size

2. Gateshead 4th in the league, Brought in 10 loanees, Have retained 5

3. Barnet 3rd in the league, Brought in 7 loanees, retaining 3

4. Oldham 5th Brought in 13 loanees retaining 4

5 FGR 2nd brought in only 3 loanees retaining 2, but been buying, like Caldwell rumoured £145. Plus 6 free transfers coming in

These clubs will constantly take on board loanees

But it doesnt work does it Kev?

I’d definitely take him now on a short term basis as he knows the role and we’ve badly missed him. But only on a short term basis and until we sign a new striker. But look I’d be amazed if it was even an option. Anyway it gives a chance for Kendall to step up and thrive.

Bim has been brilliant. Dread to think where we may be without him. It does however provide an opportunity for another. May force Kev’s hand to play Waldron, would like him to get a run of games together with Kendall as a front two. Also to those saying Pepple won’t do anything at League 1 level / bottom of Chanpionship, you may be proved right as it is far harder, you have to be smarter, stronger, fitter, react quicker, show better movement and be more clinical with chances but many forget that you are playing with better players around you. Why do you think so many top players fail to replicate their club form to country or vice versa? Many players play at higher level then struggle at lower, they see things those around them can’t. Players also struggle at lower level can go on to be very effective at a higher standard. Take Harry Kane, (and I’m not saying Bim is the next Kane) he never set the world alight on several loan spells in League 1 / Championship but nobody could argue with his numbers at top level.

And I’ll say this respectfully - why do you give a ****? He was loyal to us through a torrid time for the club and he scored a few goals. Were you expecting an open letter to the fans when he left? 🤦🏻‍♂️

Nope. Not sure I said that. But he's vaunted as this mythical player, so very loyal. Very loyal indeed. Stayed when he wasn't getting paid and then just went to Forest Green? Not even a league club.

Where's the loyalty to me who sat through all of that **** watching some of the worst football imaginable? Not even a wish the blues fans all the best in the future?

Anyway, returning players do so well don't they? Eastwood, Sawyer, Barnard, Kightly.

Yeah **** it Lets sign him.

i believe he isnt wanted by Luton and they arent interested in renewing his contract but a club higher up than us have expressed an interest. So that would make sense. they can get something for him now rather than lose him for nothing at the end of the season. but it cant be a huge sum for someone his age and record so shame we cant match it or something similar to keep him. Im sure its probably been discussed but maybe out of our range

Clearly disappointing for us right now however Bim could go out on loan and flop elsewhere which would mean Luton let him go at the end of the season and we will be a very good option for him.

Biggest worry is whether we can bring in a quality player (even on loan) for the rest of this season.

Bit unfair on @Strike Force there
