Breaking News Pepple recalled by Luton

Why did they recall him if they weren't allowed to, still doesn't make sense

They were allowed to, as they had a “break clause” in the loan, as Orient did with Moncur.

Some have suggested it was 10 days, I was told a week. As I said, on Monday, the last call between the two clubs until this was that Luton were happy with him staying for the season and weren’t going to exercise the right to call him back. We obviously wanted him to stay, as did Bim.

What BW is suggesting is that the loan agreement provided that they could only recall him during a certain window.

This seems highly plausible to me.

Most of their loans would be with EFL clubs where he couldn’t be recalled outside of January. This is therefore probably a standard term which just wasn’t amended as he was just an u23 player not a first team player

So Luton, as you say had a break clause. Isn't that what i have been saying all along. I'm just worried we have no plan if that clause was triggered?

No, you said they’d be able to recall him whenever they want, whereas they couldn’t. They could only recall him during the “break clause window”. Had it got to next week, they wouldn’t have been able to recall him.

Hence why Bim’s agent has been very active to generate some interest in his client, which he is well entitled to do by the way.

Have you read the loan agreement?

Terrible timing as always for us. Good luck to Bim. Selfishly, I hope it is a loan and he has a quiet few months. I would hope that gives us a good chance of signing him in the summer.

...except even Graeme Jones had (ironically) 21 appearances for us and scored 2 goals. He had however scored a shedload of goals in the league for Wigan prior.
To be fair & balanced @Sherif H, the one-legged wonder 🤣 had his magic season in 1996/7 for Wigwam when he scored 31 & joined us 6 years later as a 20 goal a season striker according to Rob Newman. That's pretty well the same gap in history as Bonne's 25 & 23 goal seasons in 2017/18 & 2018/19 for The Ooze is away from the here & now.

Ironically if you look at their careers after they had their 15 mins of fame Jones record was a goal every 5.8 apps & Bonne every 5.9. Now I know that doesn't allow for playing time & I'm at work so don't have the time to disect their minutes.

I'm not here to defend Bonne's lack of goals for us but Jones was not exactly a shining light either. 😁

Indeed, but let's be honest, despite playing a division higher, that team in 02/03 was absolutely dire, so my expectations were severely dampened at that time (sound familiar?).

Are you suggesting the Testify Bramble & Marky Mark Rawle were not your dream strike force? How very dare you!!! 🤣

I wasn't expecting much this season to be honest but I would class myself in the "disappointed but not angry" bracket.

You jumped on, I also to speak to people in the know. Most of what I say is opinion on what's going on, you must understand we all have our views, and unless you are part of the inner workings you are giving 2nd hand info.
Try to see things as a forum to express views, not to tell everyone that they are wrong. We all support the same club, and want us to succeed.

Bim is going to be a big loss, he looked a bit raw to start with but come good in the end - Luton will benefit from his work here.

It might force a change of style not having a big man to hold the ball up and muscle through, might not be a bad thing in the end.

If you lend someone something it's still yours, Luton paid good money for him and probably pay nearly all his wages, most probably in the thousands a week. I cannot see how any club would sign away any rights they have just to help out the club they are doing a favour for.
It doesn't make sense, that's why you shouldn't rely on something that you don't own?
If Bim would have scored 20+ goals and Luton were struggling to score, no club would sign such deal that they couldn't recall any time.
They paid around £40k for him. A fairly normal sum even for our league...

It might help, and not aimed at you, if people wrote opinions as opinions not facts. In my opinion.
