PC Help

Hi all,

I've got my new graphics card and am about to install it. I'm happy installing things having changed sound cards and wireless cards. However my pc currently has an inbuild Intel graphics card on the motherboard. I know that I can go into my BIOS and there is an option that says "enable VGA" which is obviously turned on at the moment.

I just want to confirm that this is the order that I should do things.

make a system resore point
uninstall any drivers
put the cd for the new graphics card in
shut down, stick the new card in
plug my monitor into the new card
power up and follow the cd instructions (which i assume load up in windows, i don't have my pc searching to boot from cd before harddrive)
install anything in windows/update driver

do i have to disable the onboard graphics card first or what? i don't understand how i would do this and see!!!

Cheers

Wouldn't bother with a System Restore Point..

Put the new card in
Connect the monitor cable to the new card
boot up Pc
insert CD and install drivers.

Don't bother with uninstalling old drivers or messing about in the BIOS. I think having a video card plugged into the mainboard will automatically override the BIOS setting.
