Paul Furlong offered one year contract at Barnet

SUFC Forever

Manager
Saw on Sky Sports News today that Paul Furlong has been offered a one year contract with Barnet. Unless he decides to retire I am sure he will take it as it is virtually 99.9% certain he will not be coming back to Southend now I feel.

Is he 41 now? He's definitely getting on a bit and will probably end his career there

I know he won't go down as one of our best ever signings but you have to admire what a professional he is. Still playing as a striker at that age! Fair play to him.

Best of luck to him. He will be forgotten from my mind's SUFC player database quicker than Steve McGavin, Miguel De Sousa and Ken Charlery, but to keep the dedication, fitness and desire to keep playing (and scoring) at his age is a credit to him.

That post reminded me of a song we had for Charlery to the tune of let it be
Charlery, Charlery, Charlery, Charlery, We don't think your the answer ,Charlery
