Parking Fine

J

The Chameleon
Ok so a errrr mate, was issued a parking fine for parking half in a bus stop, half in a bay, in harlem court road. The parking attendant issued a ticket, and put on the windscreen... when my errr friend got in his car, he drove away before she could take a picture of the ticket and car for evidence... can they still do my friend for it if he disputes it?

As things stand I don't think so.
They are changing the law though so that it takes effect from the second it starts to get issued rather than as soon as it is issued onto the windscreen. Not sure when this law changes though.

But i thought they had to take pictures as evidence, encase it was disputed? And lucky my mates foot hit the accelerator fast enough, before the snappy snappy took place...

If there's no photo & no ticket, I think there's no offence to answer!

No no.. there is a ticket, perhaps i didn't make that clear, but before the hag could take any photos... wooosh... smoke, dust wheelspin and away...

Apparently...

Did the ticket actually touch the windscreen?

Hag, like it!
Best criticism of a traffic warden I ever saw was in Belfast when we were on the open-top bus tour.
This bloke was walking up the street when he saw a warden issung a ticket (don't even think it was on his car) and he shouted across at full volume "Oi, b@stardface" - sounds better in an aggressive Ulster accent! :p

Unfortunately J, I think you'll still get done.

I have received 2 parking tickets in the last 3 months.

On one occassion I tried to drive away before the picture was taken, but still got rumbled.

I was informed by the Council that the actual summons is based on when the ticket is issued from the hand-held machine that the stubborn wardens use, the photo is a mere back-up.

Imagine it's a £60 fine, but that reduces to £30 if you pay within 14 days.

One of the tickets I received was for returning to my car 7 minutes after the meter ran out. The warden saw me and my Mrs hurrying our way back to the car with a load of Christmas Shopping, but still he issued the ticket, complete arrogant and stubborn jobsworth.

I contested both fines but still got done.

I contested one last year and won.. for a st georges day parade, i had bought a ticket and displayed it upside down, and apparently it's a penalty not to display it correctly.. and they raised it to 90 quid, and as soon as i said i was taking them to court.. an apology letter came through, and they rescinded it.. of course!

anyway, this time, it's my poor friend...

I reckon your friend is knackered then! Ticket will be marked as issued!
They will have record of car numberplate in their issuing system.

I have actually, there's a fit little blonde one up here. She does have a bit of a frowny face though!

This reminds me of a trip to Bengal .. err sorry, Birdbrain Road one year .. as we walked out the station there was a traffic warden ticketing a car, he was just about to take the picture when Shrimptank and i thought it would be amusing to get in it .. and jumped in front of the camera .. miserable b*stard was not amused one bit, though his complaints were drowned out in a massive Sea-Sea-Seasiders !!! from our little group

Next time I see her I'll get snapping on my phone! :p

well this is the best traffic warden i could find...

and it still looks like cricko

i got a parking ticket in Benfleet at the beginning of december.

The ticket was overturned when i wrote a complaint saying that the signage in the street was insufficient.
