Yea that's mega poor :( might as well go for it, absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain. So annoying at times.

Wonder if this is another one he will regret and will be "going home to have a look at himself in the mirror"...?

I think he is trying to ensure Freddy is fully fit for the play offs with this niggling injury that he has got. Saying that, they did look very good last week and surprising he hasnt gone with it again.

In my opinion it's the lack of positivity in team selections that are the main reason as to why we will be in the play-offs rather than the automatics.

It's easy to point the finger at individual games or moments, i.e floodlights at Aldershot, but i feel the real reason is the former.

Well i'm obviously on my own then because I think he's got it spot on.

Agreed!

We will only realistically finish 4th or 5th, which both mean second legs at home, so need to risk Freddy IMO especially will a Bilel hat-trick last week. Cheltenham, Crewe and Oxford will all be equally difficult, although I think I'd prefer Cheltenham.

Just pray that we don't pick up suspensions or injuries.

One change for Blues at Oxford

SOUTHEND United manager Paul Sturrock has made one change to his starting line-up for this afternoon's clash at Oxford United.

Not a massive suprise to see Eastwood on the bench, although Sturrock seems to have realised that at home a more passing game is the way to go, long ball has worked well away this season so I'd imagine Sturrock will stick with that, which doesn't suit Freddy's style at all, so he may as well just be an impact sub if we need him.

Hmmmm. Leaning towards seeing the change as unnecessary and a little bit negative, especially off the back of a win last time out. Instead of being afraid of losing, he should be hell-bent on winning. Can see the point of resting players, but when there is still a small chance of top 3.

Will be interesting to see if it works. Can't see us scoring a goal with that starting 11 though.
