last night and saturday should easily see over 20,000 passing through the turnstiles, which adds up to decent dollar for club coffers

rewind several years ago and 2 homes games on the trot might have attracted a combined crowd of 6000.

sir steve you are my hero.

I have been in the Hall at a few games over 20,000....Until we lost the South Bank..:(

As a matter of interest...Do you know the South Bank once could hold more than the total of the whole ground now....IE: 13,000

Yes it shows how the club has grown over the past 5 years and will be nice to show the opposition who really is the BIGGEST club in Essex. I think they have only sold 1,000 tickets for the game looking at their message board which is a shoddy amount really for a derby

That figure includes a "surge" of interest after they finally won a match. Their true level of confidence seems apparent from the levels of trolling at the moment (practically non-existant) compared to when we last played them (ridiculous).

And it usually had something like 3 old men & a dog standing on it!

The away fans were usually kept warm running away from the South Bank crew for at least half the match.

Hey good old days teams like Gillingham on one Friday night have 400 or so singing away standing in the middle of the South Stand after running a few southend kids before the game …after about 15 min after K/O the South Bank boys i.e. Ginger Lees mob slowly gather together standing 10 foot above them... us school kids in the north bank used to watch them every game all excited saying the Southend Boys have arrived from the Pubs ... watching the Gillingham fans releasing the Southend boys are grouping up behind them about 40 to 60 starting to **** themselves... Then us in the North Bankers would sing

SOUTH BANK SOUTH BANK DO YOUR JOB!! And bingo its kicks off and the 400 or so Gillingham scatter for their life’s....
