Outstanding performances...

What a superb performance from the guys today - especially in the 2nd half when we seemed to settle into the very impressive surroundings and realise that WBA were not comfortable being attacked.

We remarked after 5 mins or so of the 2nd half that this is exactly what was needed - we came out and went right at them for a good 20 minute spell after the break and really should have netted a couple. JCR taking the ball away from Gower and Freddy spurning a couple.

But for me, the stand outs are Gower, Maher and Flavs. Gower was immense and his fitness and work rate matched his skill and creativity - he deserved a goal.

Kev was awesome again, very composed on the ball and is getting up and down the pitch in real box-to-box fashion.

And Flavs kept the scoreline down with at least 4 superb saves when we were under the cosh for most of the first half.

Everybody played their parts today though so well done guys!!

Agree with those comments in general, but for me Maher was the best player on the pitch today. Awsome performance both in breaking down WBA's attacking play and in driving us forward.

Not sure if any of you guys look at our teletext section? They had player ratings for the West Brom game on there this morning and gave Maher a 5! When Paynter was given a 7 its clear the person responsible for said ratings wasnt at the game!

As for performances I think the most outstanding was from ourselves, the fans. Sang our hearts out and my voice is pretty sore today and my hands red raw from the constant clapping. "1-0 and you still dont sing" was right and there's no doubt in my mind the players reacted to our loyal positive support.

Keep it up people!

I think that 2 players saved west brom today from heavy defeat
1. Paul Mcshane the ginger mop of a defender cleared his lines everyday and was influential in the final result. 9/10
2. Billy Paynter didnt show any threat in front of goal and just walked around all game without doing anything effective

Paul Mcshane was given the MOTM award. It say's a lot for how well we played that a central defender won it.

Rubbish. Paynter worked his socks off as did Freddy.
