Should "Only You" be the Southend United 'anthem'?

Building on the feel-good factor of the last few games, how about trying to get a SUFC 'anthem' going? In the TBV sub-forum, I suggessted this song from Yazoo, and it was met with a positive response, so I thought we could put it to the vote :unsure:

Yazoo, were a band from the 80's, formed of lead singer Alison Moyet (Southend Utd fan) & Vince Clark (Southend Utd fan), and "Only You" is one of their biggest & most recognisable hits. The chorus is very easy to remember & sing (for the daytrippers) and it woud play well accoustically around the ground (imo) :thumbsup:

Not suitable, I'm afraid. It's a great song, by two Shrimpers fans. Alison's voice is tremendous. But, the song's not suitable I'm afraid. If we're searching for a Southend connection then Eddie & the Hot Rods single Do Anything You Wanna Do, a hit from 1977, might be better, not least because it needs to be shouted rather than sung:

Never thought there was anything wrong with "You're gonna get your f*****g heads kicked in." Seems to have disappeared over the years though.

As mentioned on another thread how about the 1970's north bank classic we've got the best team in the land .Easy to sing and remember!! Wev'e got Dan Bentley at Number 1 ,we've got Dan Bentley at number 1,wev'e got Dan Bentley at number 1 .....Wev'e got the best team in the land Repeat for every player.....................once sung you can't get the bl**dy:winking: tune out of your head
