Under the "Whats Going On?" section of the message board where it tells you how many users are logged on - is it possible to show how many active Matt Harrold threads are open so i know when its finally been discussed to death.

I initially assumed this was sarcasm but the vitriol of the past couple of weeks now suggests it might well be that number.

As I said a week or so ago, despite the argument that it's OK to debate the pros/cons of players on here, I do guess that at least some of the team will pay a visit from time to time to check up on what;s being said about them.

Maybe all of us should bear that in mind before logging in?

I have to disagree on that one, this forum is the very place for people to air their views on all aspects of SUFC. It is better for fans to abuse players on here than to shout at them on the pitch. We moderate the posts to remove blatant libelous remarks but it would be a sad place if people have to praise the players so as to not upset them.

A very short Scottish SUFC fan told Gordon Connelly face to face exactly what he thought of him in a very aggressive way and frightened GC so much he was a crap player for us until he left. I am sure the same abuse on SZ would have affected the player less.

Fair enough, I'm not saying we should have a love-in & go into raptures about how wonderful every Southend player is. All I'm saying is maybe the time's come for the various tedious threads about MH to be reeled in slightly (see Steve's latest "comedy" poll for further evidence of how sad this is all getting!)

I would be interested to know though what our squad think of boards such as this. As I posted elsewhere, the Morecambe team put "internet message boards" as one of the barriers to success they had no control over as part of their final preparations for their first league game back in August!

To be fair to that particular short Scottish SUFC fan, I don't think he can be blamed entirely for Gordon Connelly being crap.
