I don't think we meant to start the clapping. After the short speech was read out there was a ripple of applause which I think mainly came from our end. The QPR fans up the other end then started clapping & it spread around the whole ground with players also joining in.[b said:Quote[/b] (shrimpboy @ Aug. 12 2006,21:25)]They're also thanking us for starting the applause during the minute's SILENCE.
yes..[b said:Quote[/b] (Smiffy @ Aug. 13 2006,09:37)]Or did he have something on his mind I wonder?...
Yeah the blokes in front of me started clapping when the parents walked on and it just spread really quickly. I think a minutes silence is more respectful but if the parents liked it then that's what matters.[b said:Quote[/b] (Up the Shrimps @ Aug. 12 2006,22:21)]I don't think we meant to start the clapping. Hope the boy's mother & father didn't mind? I don't think so as even the QPR club official standing next to them on the pitch was clapping.
I think of somone dies clapping is more respectful as it shows appreciation for their life more than a silence where you mourn someone.[b said:Quote[/b] (fredheim_holm @ Aug. 13 2006,22:58)]I think if you were the boy looking down on it than you would feel so much more respect coming from clapping than silence.
However a minutes silence does make you think about what happened and may have been better.
I was thinking that a bit too but I was never going to say as much on there.[b said:Quote[/b] (OneDreweBroughton @ Aug. 12 2006,20:51)]Seemed a pretty accurate description of him. I'd still back him to score regularly at this level, and the next though.
