Wanted - George Moncur is being tracked by another National League club (Image: Lucy Copsey)

ON LOAN Southend United midfielder George Moncur is being tracked by another National League club, Echosport understands.

Moncur did not make the Shrimpers squad for the Boxing Day clash with Ebbsfleet United and could now head elsewhere for the second half of the season.

Moncur joined Blues on loan from Leyton Orient back in August but has failed to score in 16 appearances for the club.

Unfortunately turned out to be the player O’s fans warned he would. Really hoped it work out but he hasn’t produced. Maher has given him chances but he has failed to have impact that someone of his ability should. Would question anyone in the NL trying to sign him. What have they seen?

Opinions eh? From what I saw, Moncur was more prone to running the ball down dead alleys than he was to playing defence splitting passes.

For those saying we didn’t play to his strengths, I’d ask, what were his strengths exactly? What system would have suited him?

It’s just one of those things, it hasn’t worked out here and for his sake as well as our own, it’s best if he moved on.
