just reading the Rickets article on the Trust site and was particularly interested in:

Quote[/b] ]We understand that there are now moves to charge our member with a public order offence for gesticulating at Mr. Ricketts

So if they charge Nick for this, then surely they HAVE TO charge Rickets for the same offence but multiplied by how many fans were in the South Upper - unless he can claim his gesture was made at one person in particular.
Or is there one rule for fans and one for players?

We should keep an eye on the situation. My 15 yr old son was sitting in the South Stand upper as im sure were some other children which might make the Ricketts gesture possibly more severe as we could claim it was also aimed at children.

Geez.....so it's a public order offence to make a w%&ker (or similair) sign to an opposition goalkeeper now?

What the feck is this world coming to?

Seriously considering swapping President Blair for Prime Minister Howard mate (and I don't mean Micheal either).

Then I can join the annoyingly smug ex-pats club

No, you have to be politically correct for his Tonyness. However, if you're a 14 year old you can around doing drugs, graffiti and generally being anti-social because you're "expressing yourself".

This whole affair has just gotten ridiculous. The police (and possibly Ricketts / Bradford) seem determined to pin something on us, the allegations change like the wind. Why can't these people just leave it alone?

If a w%&ker jesture is now a public order offence, should the Police not get the club to issue public order offences to most football fans at the point of them buying their tickets? I'll have mine next time I'm over, thank you very much.

Me too.

But then, living in exile on foreign shores, are we not missing out on the greatest evolution of a nation the world has not seen since the Japanese went through the Meijii Period and became the one of the greatest industrial powers in the world? The UK is very gradually being transformed kicking and screaming from one of the greatest nations in the world into a submissive society that dares not speak out against the policy of change for fear of heavy prosecution from Comrade Blair's omnipresent state which continues to work to enforce perfect conformity through indoctrination, propaganda, fear, and ruthless punishment.

It would make a great book ...

It did make a great book. About time another film version of 1984 was made I think. The whole 'Big Brother' thing would make it appeal to the chavs, thus keeping them in the flicks and not on the streets.

Hang on, I'll patent that idea then sell it to Tony for £50k worth of consultancy....

We're entitled to our opinions; mine is that it's no longer a "fantastic place" and is certainly not the country I grew up in many years ago.

And for the record, whenever I visit the UK (which I try not to let happen too much these days) I can't wait to get back to Spain ...

As Wittgenstein once said " It doesn't matter a tuppeny F**K as long as SUFC are top of the league"

From his famous work "B******S to the lot of you"

THE DIFINITIVE VERSION.....

Ximinez: NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition! Amongst our weaponry are such diverse elements as: fear, surprise, ruthless efficiency, an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope, and nice red uniforms - Oh damn!

We seem to have gone off at a bit of a tangeant here !!!!
