Ode to a lost Revell

South Bank Hank

⭐⭐🦐
There was a lad named Revell
He rarely troubled the net,
But when the club said he could go
He became our best goal threat.

Geoff King came out and said his piece
"Expectations were not matched
He didn't score, he never did.
That's why he was dispatched."

ShrimperZone went on alert,
Everyone had their say.
"It's Martin's fault!", "Geoff King's the one!",
"Steve wanted him to stay!"

"Your glasses have a rosy tint!",
"Your argument's defective!"
"I wish you'd calm it down and try
To get some ****ing perspective!"

Then Revell shared his different view
"It's 'cos we've got no money...
I might have the touch of a week old deer
But at least my blog was funny.
I might not hit the onion bag
Enough for Geoffrey King.
But that's not me, I run around
Then write down everything.
I'll tell you how to cook your spuds
Share the latest in-club chatter,
I thought it would get me a bumper deal
But King said it didn't matter."

Perspective folks!

We've moved on a poor player on the last day of the transfer window. The loan window opens again shortly. Strikes me that we're clearing the decks to bring in something better.

If we don't, I'll admit I was wrong.

Ha ha, never has there been such outcry at a crap player leaving?!

In my opinion both Matt Harrold and Billy Paynter are better players than Revell, but where was the negatism when they left??

...because (allegedly) Harrold is a slightly abrasive, full-of-himself chap; and Paynter was the complete opposite, someone who never came out of his shell on or off the pitch.

Revell wrote a very popular blog, and it would appear that his PR was highly effective with most people rating him for that rather than for his appearances.

In the cold light of day, Revell's departure isn't disastrous - although (a) I'd like to hope we've made a fist of trying to recover some of the £150K we've spent on him; and (b) King's comments were extremely ill-judged and reflect extremely poorly on both him and on SUFC. One should never burn bridges - something Mr. King appears to have done with his incendiary comments.

because the outcry isn't at Revell leaving, but King's statement? Certainly is from me anyway

I personally think Kings comments reflet the fact Revell is going to spill his guts in the echo tomorrow.

Brilliant. Shame that you post too many good posts so I cant green you up!

There is an exec called King
Whose public relation skills ming
Ron called it 'generic',
We call it pathetic,
He badly screwed up the whole thing.

Brilliant work

And so on

"There once was a player called Matt(Harold)
Who's skills as a player were not all that
So as a striking failure, we moved him off to P Taylor

There then came a player called Revell, with about as much skill as a Breville(Toaster; yes crap I know)
He disappointed the Fans(And GK too), seeming more at home with his pots and pans!"

Total rubbish I know, but I saw Revell as a poor signing and in a similar useless mode as Harold was.....

A "boss" at Southend (Geoff King)
Said "lending out player's the thing.
It's got to be Revell,
The thick lazy devil,
Our fan's won't notice a thing!"
