OD - Week 5

MrB

Life President
Nearly fell foul of following the FC week number!

ShrimperZone CC v Jons Legends

We play 3rd this week, a very solid outfit, no out and out stars but 11 high rated players. We rest only the yoofs ahead of 7 nets combined training tomorrow and Lamo drops down the order to conserve energy for Sunday. Could also be Kev and Shearer's last games for the club, maybe.....

1st (me) against 2nd, in the first of 2 massive games this week-end. We're pretty much at Full-Strength, only Kekeletso misses out to save him for Sunday. We're at home on a GFI.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB has a couple missing as she tries to juggle her side around with Sunday's Cup game in mind. She's 2nd and at home to 3rd on a GFI.

Sorry B, oppo has thrown my game, so we should be pretty good PFl wise on Sunday :)

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Poodlefakers

We can tell you that BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this sunny day.

End of Over 2: 5-3, runrate=2.50
Schoeman 1-0-4-2
Hammond* 0 (0 balls)
Keen 0 (1 balls)

Last Wicket: Blott c. Evelyn b. Schoeman 0 (FOW: 5/3)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

DIBS DIPPERS v Borders Batters

We can tell you that DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this sunny day.

End of Over 2: 2-0, runrate=1.00
Eagles 1-0-1-0
Lonergan* 1 (9 balls)
Dharmapreya 0 (3 balls)

End of Over 4: 14-0, runrate=3.50
Rehmatullah 2-0-7-0
Lamb* 4 (11 balls)
Raven 10 (13 balls)

Bound to lose a wicket soon. This lot very impressively beat Inspired Reality (the bunch with the elite top order!) and it now seems like todays oppo also has an elite top order! Oh the joys. Think they are all trying to counter my bowling attack!

Boo!!

No such luck here, they're being stubborn and we have a lot of very similarly skilled batsmen to get through.

End of Over 6: 24-0, runrate=4.00
Schofield 3-0-16-0
Yaddehige* 14 (19 balls)
Jeffery 10 (17 balls)

Well that didn't take long, Middleton following up his 8-2 on Sunday with 5-4 today.

The players are off the field for the break between innings.

End of Over 6: 12-10, runrate=2.00
Schoeman 2-0-8-3
Norris* 0 (0 balls)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Early wicket for Mrs BB

DIBS DIPPERS v Borders Batters

DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 7: 18-1, runrate=2.57
Mohammed 4-1-8-0
Gurney* 5 (4 balls)
Lonergan 10 (22 balls)

Last Wicket: Dharmapreya c. Bird b. Eagles 2 (FOW: 6/1)

well, we're still in

End of Over 10: 28-1, runrate=2.80
Croft 5-0-13-1
Jefferson* 16 (28 balls)
Prag 11 (25 balls)

Last Wicket: Armstrong c. Henshaw b. Croft 0 (FOW: 2/1)

Hmmm, we're going to have a total to chase by the looks of things!

End of Over 12: 60-0, runrate=5.00
Plummer 1-0-1-0
Yaddehige* 41 (42 balls)
Jeffery 19 (30 balls)

And that's the end of the match. BATTY SHRIMPERS won by 10 wickets.
Poodlefakers 12-10
BATTY SHRIMPERS 18-0

Lovely Jubbly !

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good start from Mrs BB's bowlers

DIBS DIPPERS v Borders Batters

DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 12: 45-3, runrate=3.75
Karel 1-0-7-0
Kenny* 4 (6 balls)
Lonergan 14 (28 balls)

Last Wicket: House c. Mohammed b. Ballard 19 (FOW: 37/3)

Breakthrough, now to slow them down.

End of Over 15: 65-1, runrate=4.33
Marriott 1-0-1-0
Akona* 2 (6 balls)
Jeffery 20 (36 balls)

Last Wicket: Yaddehige c. Keegan b. Plummer 43 (FOW: 63/1)

End of Over 19: 88-1, runrate=4.63
Chavhanga 5-0-29-0
Thikhathali* 28 (55 balls)
Davenport 55 (51 balls)
Last Wicket: Healy st. Breckin b. Wilson 5 (FOW: 7/1)

Lost the toss and batting first in very bowler friendly conditions. Cracked pitch, cloudy and humid. Healy failed yet again, but we're going ok. Davenport needs to stay in for a long time.

End of Over 20: 80-1, runrate=4.00
Kilbane 5-0-25-0
Lamb* 28 (54 balls)
Cook 5 (4 balls)

Last Wicket: Raven c. Van dyk b. Garner 46 (FOW: 73/1)

Their weak link bowler is now on. I was hiding Browne and Sookram at 5 and 6 to coincide with the weaker bowler coming on, but that plan seems to perhaps have back-fired a little bit. Still, happy with the position so far and a good knock from Raven to kick off the innings!

Kev

Gichki being mean

End of Over 23: 85-3, runrate=3.70
Gichki 5-1-10-2
Singh* 3 (4 balls)
Mabuso 42 (58 balls)
Last Wicket: Brough st. Wright b. Gichki 7 (FOW: 82/3)

Another one down and Mario has slowed them down nicely. Will have my usual worries when the target drifts past 150 though.....

End of Over 27: 102-2, runrate=3.78
Marriott 7-2-15-1
Jeffery* 36 (72 balls)
Charl 16 (25 balls)

Last Wicket: Akona b. Marriott 6 (FOW: 78/2)

Nice

28.1 W Gichki to Mabuso
Got him! Clean Bowled! Mabuso had no chance to hit that ball.

End of Over 28: 111-4, runrate=3.96
Cahill 4-0-24-1
Mabuso* 50 (70 balls)
Macken 0 (1 balls)
Last Wicket: Singh c. Wright b. Cahill 21 (FOW: 111/4)

Middle Order: quality feeble
Lower Order: woeful abysmal
Seam Bowling: exquisite feeble

Another down, one more before the final ten will open an end slightly.

End of Over 35: 124-3, runrate=3.54
Keegan 6-1-18-0
Jeffery* 51 (102 balls)
Pooran 1 (11 balls)

Last Wicket: Charl c. Schofield b. Marriott 19 (FOW: 107/3)
