OD - Week 4

MrB

Life President
This week we line up against the same team that Nick played in his FC game. Unfortunately the match was over in just over a day and they played pretty much a reserve team so no additional fitness issues for them however a couple of their main players seem to be suffering anyway.

Will play a relatively strong team but TIE as we have a tough cup game and then an even tougher FC game. 9 wins on the spin since that opening FC defeat, with member numbers back on the rise I'm going to make sure we are as strong as possible for these tough games as we have plenty of opportunities to rest players in both FC and OD leagues - the Level IV comfort factor cannot be underestimated!

making my OD debut today against a rather poor looking Bargord CC side and have them 1-2 after 2 overs. :D On a greenish wicket. Hopefully my seemers will enjoy themselves!

End of Over 4: 32-0, runrate=8.00
Hitchen 2-0-10-0
Murray* 20 (14 balls)
Jefferson 8 (10 balls)

Good start

I've TIE'd today in expectation of a heavy defeat- however the oppo, despite having no major fitness issues has rested several key players (presumably also in expectation of a heavy win). Bit more interesting now... I'm batting, anyway.

End of Over 5: 29-0, runrate=5.80
Searle 3-0-16-0
Scholes* 10 (13 balls)
Rautenbach 16 (19 balls)

Bugger. Jeffers out and Suthers out for a silver duck

End of Over 7: 47-2, runrate=6.71
Murphy 4-0-30-0
Murray* 27 (23 balls)
Booth 2 (3 balls)

Last Wicket: Sutherland b. Hitchen 0 (FOW: 40/2)

Ah the joys of playing bots Al! You'll get more competition in the SZ Cup on Sunday! :D

We've been put in but have made a good start on our cracked top:

End of Over 8: 45-0, runrate=5.63
Sampson 4-0-20-0
Cook* 19 (21 balls)
Cunningham 24 (27 balls)

This is only Richie's 3rd bat this season, he should be fit enough now!

I'll take any win at the moment Paul just to get me going!

A slight re-gigging of our line up see Sugden open with Bartlett, with Drury at third, Gamage and Boateng don't bowl, and probably won't have to bat, and bring in a comp/feeble bowling reserve and a comp/comp bowling reserve to take over from G+B. They open with a player on fatigued fitness and haven't got much else in the way of bowlers, so should have TIE'd really.

End of Over 9: 82-0, runrate=9.11
Ball 5-0-44-0
Sugden* 49 (26 balls)
Bartlett 32 (28 balls)

13.2 W Swales to Murray
Swales got down well to that and has taken a great catch! That was hit back with some power
13.1 1 Swales to Booth
Wide of off, guided down to third man for a quick single.

End of Over 13: 92-2, runrate=7.08
Murphy 7-0-52-0
Booth* 14 (18 balls)
Murray 60 (44 balls)

Last Wicket: Sutherland b. Hitchen 0 (FOW: 40/2)

We can tell you that Indiekid CC won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a bit on the dry side. A fair bit of help for the spinners I think on this partially cloudy and humid day.

End of Over 14: 81-1, runrate=5.79
Spicer 2-0-11-0
Titterton* 38 (29 balls)
Philip 34 (46 balls)

Last Wicket: Lamb c. Dickman b. San 5 (FOW: 10/1)

Decided to open with Titterton but Philip is hogging the strike, shall we say!

Richie goes, brings Saj to the crease. Promoted up one from his usual 4, desperately needs an innings, not one 50 from 8 innings this season.
End of Over 17: 111-1, runrate=6.53
Solomon 9-0-56-1
Sajjad* 6 (3 balls)
Cook 61 (49 balls)

Last Wicket: Cunningham c. Bishop b. Solomon 42 (FOW: 104/1)

good game here.. Scotty got out 2 short of his 50, but we'll let him off as he was scoring at over a run a ball.

End of Over 18: 103-2, runrate=5.72
Fiaz 4-0-20-0
Rieger* 28 (38 balls)
Horsfield 5 (3 balls)
Last Wicket: Rautenbach b. Settle 48 (FOW: 86/2)

91-2 after 18 overs, having lost the toss and been put into bat. I'd actually elected to bat anyway.

Their best two bowlers are bowling straight through.

End of Over 22: 117-3, runrate=5.32
Brammer 1-0-4-0
Back* 8 (26 balls)
Booth 30 (46 balls)

Last Wicket: Murray c & b. Swales 60 (FOW: 93/3)

Cheryl and Lower keeping it steady

I decided to rest my entire 1st 11 for this game, as the opposition seemed to have given up, their PFLs are extremely low and it seems to have paid off well.

And that's the end of the match. Gambero C.C. won by 10 wickets.
Zenzul Five 15-10
Gambero C.C. 19-0

Wow. Thats a blast from the past. They used to be in my Level 5 league when it all first started and they were s**t hot then! They got promoted to IV and then III but it seems like its all over for them now! Pity!
