OD - Week 3

MrB

Life President
Nadouessioux Akíchita v ShrimperZone CC

Three BT20 wins has brought morale back in the right direction. With a winnable Cup game we should be guaranteed decent receipts in FC next week but a win here would help. Unfortunately they're a very strong team these days (used to be known as Chelmsford Rangers) and it's going to be tough. Defeat would leave us pointless from three games and staring relegation in the face.

All sublime but so are they. They have an arguably tougher Cup game on Sunday (though not according to the rankings) so I'm hoping they won't GFI.

Also lost first two but figure I will finish 6th at worst so have left out star allrounder for PFL - need him for FC next week. Six bats could backfire on me

mighty minnions v BATTY SHRIMPERS

We play the side that came down from I.1, so won't be easy as we try to make it 3 out of 3 in OD. Everybody at Sublime, and not the toughest Cup game to come on Sunday, so we're GFI.

We can tell you that mighty minnions won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a bit on the dry side. A fair bit of help for the spinners I think on this sunny day.

End of Over 5: 33-0, runrate=6.60
Thandiwe 3-0-16-0
Tyas* 14 (15 balls)
Pollock 18 (15 balls)

--------------------------------------------------------------

The Great Unwashed v DIBS DIPPERS

Top of the table clash for Mrs BB as she takes on the side promoted from III last season.

We can tell you that The Great Unwashed won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a little uneven. Should be tough for the batsmen on this partially cloudy day.

End of Over 5: 22-1, runrate=4.40
Chiwira 3-0-11-0
Zubair* 10 (17 balls)
Stride 2 (3 balls)

Last Wicket: Titterton Run Out 9 (FOW: 20/1)

They're 34-1 from 12, nice and tight but it's green and PCH so we need wickets, wouldnt fancy chasing much above 150.

Southend United v Portland Slingers

We can tell you that Portland Slingers won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this partially cloudy and humid day.

End of Over 17: 66-4, runrate=3.88
Gichki 4-0-18-1
Hedley* 15 (18 balls)
O'Brien 14 (22 balls)
Last Wicket: Bell c. Baxter b. Gichki 28 (FOW: 44/4)

No further wickets and the run rate is slowly drifting upwards. It looks like they may have rested a couple today which gives me more hope for chasing.

End of Over 22: 80-1, runrate=3.64
Crossley 1-0-5-0
Aslam* 37 (46 balls)
Gallage 39 (71 balls)
Last Wicket: Nicholls c. Lamey b. Digana 2 (FOW: 11/1)

End of Over 26: 96-4, runrate=3.69
Lakhani 3-1-2-0
Marrium* 6 (23 balls)
Arthur 33 (45 balls)

Looking at their bowling I need them out for no more than 180. Even then I'm not confident

Damn 196 to win. Can't see it unless Adriann or Mckie work their magic

End of Over 50: 248-2, runrate=4.96
Gadsby 10-0-71-1
Nagendranath* 19 (12 balls)
White 64 (82 balls)

Last Wicket: Tyas c. Thandiwe b. Gadsby 108 (FOW: 217/2)

Tyas dismissed for the 1st time in an OD match this season, means he's averaging 343 :smiles:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

End of Over 50: 220-5, runrate=4.40
Foy 10-2-40-1
Buchan* 11 (5 balls)
Morgan 1 (1 balls)

Last Wicket: Arnold b. Foy 23 (FOW: 214/5)

Probably about par for Mrs BB given the conditions

Pretty level I'd say!

End of Over 10: 47-1, runrate=4.70, reqrunrate=4.70 (234-4)
Mccullum 5-0-18-1
Lamey* 23 (25 balls)
Guneratne 16 (18 balls)
Last Wicket: Sinethemba b. Mccullum 8 (FOW: 23/1)

Almost as level...

End of Over 14: 80-0, runrate=5.71, reqrunrate=4.44 (239-0)
Dhindsa 2-0-6-0
Jefferson* 27 (40 balls)
Perry 48 (44 balls)

End of Over 27: 121-1, runrate=4.48, reqrunrate=3.26 (195-5)
Kingsberry 7-0-30-1
Vusi* 3 (8 balls)
Healy 55 (88 balls)
Last Wicket: Adriaan c. Marrium b. Kingsberry 55 (FOW: 112/1)

Going surprisingly well

Also a 9 wicket win and we're off the mark. Very nice 200 run unbeaten partnership between Lamo and Chandra, the latter finishing it with a 6.

Should now be a much needed payload next week with two home games.

An easy 6 wicket win in the end. They posted 239-0, so they'll be gutted. Perry got 117 no off 146 balls (defensive!). Allan, Dliza and McAndrew got 11 runs between them - looking like a collapse, but Arrowsmith, feeling annoyed he didnt get the Canada call up got 32 off 31 balls to seal the win with 3 balls left.

Napster's XI BigDogs****
Top Order: masterful exquisite
Middle Order: superb remarkable
Lower Order: woeful abysmal
Seam Bowling: sensational exquisite
Spin Bowling: elite elite
Fielding: feeble proficient
MOTM: Arshad-ur-rehman

unconvincing 5 wicket win for us against a low total, but we maintain our 100% record in OD. Dropped to 2nd on RR though, 3 teams unbeaten so far.
