OD - Week 3

MrB

Life President
Two defeats so far for me. This week however everyone is back to sublime so we've allowed ourselves a GFI, our cup game isn't too hard and I'm not worried if we go out anyway.

We play Layercake away, they've won their first two and are very strong including two 200k+ players.

AFC Wimbledon seem to have thrown the season so we're fighting to avoid one auto relegation spot.

Having lost our 1st 2 games to the current top 2, we now play the only other side who've won 2 out of 2 :(

5 still at Energetic, but they all have to play as we're in desperate need of a win. So we're going to GFI today, and TIE on Sunday.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB has all bar Eagles at Sublime, so she's at full-strength on a GFI as well, as she takes on the side in 7th who've lost both games so far. She can then afford to TIE her game on Sunday as her oppo has PFL probs.

My game is just not on.

My best 4 batsmen made 1 run between them, all out to one bowler. 2-4 after 3 overs.

Almost survived three overs from their superstar but Sandy has fallen. Still, cracked pitch, cloudy day, all runs are welcome!

End of Over 5: 15-1, runrate=3.00
Olowe 3-1-9-1
Lamey* 1 (2 balls)
Cunningham 6 (10 balls)

Last Wicket: Sandile lbw b. Olowe 8 (FOW: 14/1)

Wolfmen v BATTY SHRIMPERS

We can tell you that BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a touch on the green side. All the seam bowlers have been out there rubbing their hands on this partially cloudy day.

No early breakthrough.

End of Over 8: 35-0, runrate=4.38
Schoeman 4-0-20-0
Gilbert* 19 (23 balls)
Schutte 16 (25 balls)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Black Rose v DIBS DIPPERS

We can tell you that Black Rose won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a cracker! Hard and fast - should be a run-fest out there on this sunny day.

End of Over 8: 39-0, runrate=4.88
Krause 4-0-21-0
Stride* 16 (15 balls)
Potter 23 (33 balls)

Steady start for Mrs BB in ideal batting conditions.

We can tell you that Napster's XI won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a bit on the dry side. A fair bit of help for the spinners I think on this sunny day.

Lets join our team for ball-by-ball commentary

End of Over 9: 30-0, runrate=3.33
van Niekerk 5-1-14-0
Heskey* 22 (33 balls)
Burke 5 (22 balls)

Looks like they're bowling their openers through, a tactic that always worked against me for Monkey Sloggers. Fortunately we seem to be holding firm today.

End of Over 12: 47-1, runrate=3.92
Virgo 6-0-19-0
Cunningham* 17 (23 balls)
Lamey 22 (31 balls)

Last Wicket: Sandile lbw b. Olowe 8 (FOW: 14/1)

And now Richie is getting his eye in.

End of Over 13: 59-1, runrate=4.54
Olowe 7-1-40-1
Lamey* 22 (31 balls)
Cunningham 29 (29 balls)

Last Wicket: Sandile lbw b. Olowe 8 (FOW: 14/1)

12.6 6 Olowe to Cunningham
That's a six on any cricket ground in the world. Massive hit by Cunningham.

Need some wickets quickly before this gets away from us.

Here comes the middle order collapse!

End of Over 32: 138-5, runrate=4.31
Delaney 4-0-8-3

Marcel* 93 (110 balls)
Hulse 12 (36 balls)
Last Wicket: Wright c. Mccammon b. Whelan 2 (FOW: 94/3)

Marcel out and a good start from Gichki

40.3 W Dudfield to Marcel
Stunning catch! Well held, Carragher! Marcel skips down and absolutely leathers the ball hard and flat but Carragher dives to his left, superbly balanced, and plucks off a two-handed blinder at extra cover. You are not going to see much better than that!
40.4 6 Dudfield to Gichki
Gichki saunters down the track to Dudfield and batters him way over long on for a brute of a six.

Managed to slow them down a bit, if we can pick up another couple of wickets, we could run through them.

Wolfmen v BATTY SHRIMPERS

BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 44: 220-2, runrate=5.00
Begg 10-0-49-0
