OD Week 14

loz

President
Jorvik Celtic vs Petterfershire CCC

Full-strength team out on a GFI- a win here and a defeat for 1st place Knapster's XI against 3rd place Perminators could hand me the title. Should have been in my own hands, but was unable to set orders for a couple of weeks and lost games I should have won.

We can tell you that Jorvik Celtic C.C. won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking slow and low. Tough for everyone. Could be a low scoring match on this partially cloudy and humid day.

Feeling a bit of deja vu here, last time I was in III I lost my penultimate game which cost me promotion, I then lost the last one and ended up with a play off (which I lost). Having lost last week which cost me promotion I now have a straight fight with Mao's Gambero to see who gets a play off.

Welcome to Garon Park for the match between ShrimperZone CC and Gambero C.C..

We can tell you that Gambero C.C. won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this partially cloudy and humid day.

1st Vs 2nd here, but I'm only playing for pride as I won't be able to turn around a NRR of 12, be nice to actually see someone actually get promoted from this league.

End of Over 10: 43-0, runrate=4.30
Hulse 5-0-17-0
Neo* 12 (21 balls)
Roach 30 (39 balls)

End of Over 12: 48-4, runrate=4.00
Harmison 1-0-8-1
Malcolm* 3 (1 balls)
Hartford 3 (8 balls)
Last Wicket: Konchesky c. Mcmahon b. Harmison 4 (FOW: 45/4)

i'll certainly take that..

What a debut!

End of Over 12: 26-2, runrate=2.17
Schofield 1-0-1-1
Liddel* 1 (4 balls)
Thabo 8 (28 balls)

Last Wicket: Harrad c. Sutherland b. Schofield 12 (FOW: 25/2)

11.1 W Schofield to Harrad
Oh dear, that was too close to the body to be cut and he's only succeeded in lobbing it to gully.

End of Over 12: 35-4, runrate=2.92
Jackman 6-1-15-2
Lucky* 2 (8 balls)
Vanzan 19 (29 balls)

Last Wicket: Groves c. Deane b. Jackman 5 (FOW: 23/4)

TIE with my strongest side with Jackman and Johnson bowling straight thru!

Not a good start for me with the opposition clocking up a run rate of 6 and sitting at just over 100-1. I'm hoping my batsmen equally score well but I have a horrible feeling this is going to push me down into the play-offs.

Was just browsing the transfer market and noticed this guy. Any idea how this is possible. I don't know how they could have got his batting and bowling up without improving his consistency and concentration.

If they have no Sports Psychologists then the secondaries won't improve.

I reckon we're staying up.

End of Over 30: 47-9, runrate=1.57
Keegan 5-4-1-3
Dawood* 2 (13 balls)
Sherwood 0 (10 balls)

Last Wicket: Whaley c & b. Marriott 0 (FOW: 45/9)

Big day in the BB household !

I need to win and hope the leaders lose to take the league and get a promotion play-off, whilst Mrs BB is in a winner takes all game for her division.

Poodlefakers v BATTY SHRIMPERS

We can tell you that Poodlefakers won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a bit on the dry side. A fair bit of help for the spinners I think on this sunny day.

End of Over 42: 204-8, runrate=4.86
Fletcher 9-0-45-1
Pollock* 101 (105 balls)
Singh 3 (3 balls)

Last Wicket: Oconnor c. Maccallum b. Fletcher 0 (FOW: 200/8)

Not quite a choke, but we're certainly spluttering a bit. All down to Jacko to winkle another 20 odd runs.

DIBS DIPPERS v The Great Unwashed

We can tell you that DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this partially cloudy and humid day.

End of Over 43: 181-6, runrate=4.21
Mohammed 7-1-28-2
Gledhill* 1 (1 balls)
Coyne 21 (33 balls)

Last Wicket: Hyams c. Iwuajoku b. Mohammed 6 (FOW: 180/6)

Mrs BB going well, but she doesn't want to be chasing much over 200

getting spanked as expected and i'll be battling in a play-off to stay up, save for a gargantuan effort from my batsmen.

cruising to a win, but so are the team above me so it's 2nd place again.

End of Over 15: 74-1, runrate=4.93, reqrunrate=0.29 (83-10)
Mcgee 3-0-18-0
Sookram* 4 (15 balls)
Mcmahon 35 (47 balls)
Last Wicket: Thornley c. Malcolm b. Goff 32 (FOW: 66/1)

Welcome to The Dog Pound! for the match between Bulldogs CC and Geoff_Boycotts_Grandmother XI.

We can tell you that Geoff_Boycotts_Grandmother XI won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a bit on the dry side. A fair bit of help for the spinners I think on this sunny day.

Lets join our team for ball-by-ball commentary.

End of Over 50: 289-5, runrate=5.78
Daniels 10-0-64-1
Geldenhuys* 27 (18 balls)
Blizzard 85 (89 balls)

So that's third in the first class county championship and now third division in one-day....

End of Over 50: 259-3, runrate=5.18
Barrowdale 10-0-60-0
Darby* 15 (13 balls)
Walcott 57 (88 balls)
Last Wicket: Howard b. Hulse 53 (FOW: 227/3)

Hopefully will be able to chase that on a dusty pitch on a sunny day.

Not sure if I'll make it. I'm currently 230-1 with 8 overs to go chasing a total of 286-9. I need a run rate of 7.12 to win.

Quite an exciting game though
