OD - Week 14

MrB

Life President
Regulation season ends here. I'm up automatically even if I lose which is possible as my opponents are fairly useful. However it's a full strength team and everyone bar Lamo and Sandy are energetic or above.

Who has the meaningful matches today?

Playing second place, who are only 4 points behind me, they need to overturn a NRR of 6 as well as win to go above me. My squad is a bit tired and they are all fully fit. Need the batsmen to perform on a dusty track on a sunny day.

Not looking forward to it really.

Not for me. Guaranteed 2nd place, and nigh on impossible to catch the leader. I'm at full-strength as well, with all bar Schoeman at Sublime.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Highly unlikely Mrs BB can go up, but she's playing the leader, so she can still have an effect on the promotion picture.

2nd vs 3rd today- I could finish first but that relies on the top team slipping up. Guaranteed 2nd anyhow and have no interest in promoting to IV at this stage, so not too bothered. Strong team out with a debut for McMahon, but no GFI for us today- saving some fitness for the 20/20 knockouts.

Ashampstead v BATTY SHRIMPERS

We can tell you that Ashampstead won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking a cracker! Hard and fast - should be a run-fest out there on this partially cloudy and humid day.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Buzzard Boys v DIBS DIPPERS

We can tell you that DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a touch on the green side. All the seam bowlers have been out there rubbing their hands on this sunny day.

Not the worlds greatest batting conditions!

Welcome to Genius Beach CG for the match between Genius Beach CC and ShrimperZone CC.

We can tell you that ShrimperZone CC won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking a little uneven. Should be tough for the batsmen on this partially cloudy and humid day.

End of Over 2: 9-0, runrate=4.50
Hawn 1-0-7-0
Cunningham* 7 (8 balls)
Lamey 2 (4 balls)

Meaningless game!

We can tell you that General Stars won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this sunny day.

Lets join our team for ball-by-ball commentary.

4.1 2 Qasaria to Browne
Falken takes a shy at the stumps, but misses! One becomes two!

End of Over 4: 8-0, runrate=2.00
Batt 2-1-3-0
Browne* 5 (10 balls)
Lamb 2 (14 balls)

Took a wicket with the 1st ball, but it's been downhill since then

Ashampstead v BATTY SHRIMPERS

Ashampstead won the toss and elected to bat.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 7: 42-1, runrate=6.00
Middleton 4-0-25-1
Wanless* 24 (22 balls)
East 17 (19 balls)

Last Wicket: Penford c. Schoeman b. Middleton 0 (FOW: 0/1)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tight start from Mrs BB's opening attack

Buzzard Boys v DIBS DIPPERS

DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 7: 22-0, runrate=3.14
Mohammed 4-0-11-0
Grewcock* 14 (20 balls)
Gwynne 7 (22 balls)

batting, fairly cosy so far:

End of Over 8: 40-0, runrate=5.00
Cooke 4-0-17-0
Thornley* 20 (21 balls)
Mcmahon 20 (27 balls)

Meaningless game. I'm 3rd, playing 6th

1st and 2nd on equal points.

However, got them on 12-5. Could be quickest game yet.

I'd love my game to have been a meaningless game, because whilst I'm currently 3rd, only 4 points separates me and 7th. Barring miracles, I'm destined to finish 5th. I'm up againt Phil's Hotspurs, who need only tie to clinch the title. The team in 4th will win and move above me and the teams in 5th and 6th play each other (which at least means I can't be automatically relegated). I have a better run-rate than Sky Blues, so I'm wanting Sky Blues to win it, off the final ball and then hope Phil's Hotspurs don't beat me by too much and I can hold onto 4th on NRR, but it is an unlikely scenario.

End of Over 10: 40-1, runrate=4.00
Raven 5-0-13-0
Pembridge* 15 (33 balls)
Griffith 23 (26 balls)

Sandy rounds of a disappointing season, averaged only 29 and that included an unbeaten ton against a crap team. Will need more from him next season.

End of Over 12: 56-2, runrate=4.67
Teague 1-0-7-1
Cunningham* 32 (34 balls)
Marriott 0 (2 balls)

Last Wicket: Sandile lbw b. Teague 7 (FOW: 56/2)

Mcmahon misses out on a debut 50 but scored at run-a-ball, which was good to see. Hoping moving Barnes back up the order will stop the rot in his batting performances.

End of Over 13: 81-1, runrate=6.23
Mansell 2-0-19-1
Thornley* 35 (34 balls)
Barnes 5 (3 balls)
Last Wicket: Mcmahon c. Esterhuizen b. Mansell 41 (FOW: 75/1)

Horrible bowling performance so far

Ashampstead v BATTY SHRIMPERS

Ashampstead won the toss and elected to bat.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 16: 98-2, runrate=6.13
Oconnor 1-0-9-0
Wilkes* 13 (13 balls)
East 38 (39 balls)

Last Wicket: Wanless b. Middleton 45 (FOW: 73/2)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB's new 2.6m signing has made an immediate impact !

Buzzard Boys v DIBS DIPPERS

DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 16: 56-5, runrate=3.50
Sipho 3-0-6-3

End of Over 18: 68-3, runrate=3.78
Forster 4-0-13-0
Finnan* 2 (3 balls)
Montgomery 9 (17 balls)
Last Wicket: Pembridge c. Kenworthy b. Siddiq 23 (FOW: 60/3)
