OD - Week 1

MrB

Life President
ShrimperZone CC v Stansfield Superjets

My only vaguely winnable game in my horror show first four games so it's GFI which will leave us vulnerable for the cup match but I will probably throw FC next week so can GFI that as well.

Sold Gustav for £2m which was pretty decent for a 33yo exceptional. Bought a 32yo all rounder for £3.6m, exceptional bowling and sensational batting + exceptional fielding. Expensive on the face of it but £1.6m for a 32yo sensational bat is ok so the deal in total works out quite well. Though it also means I have to rely on Nadeeka as a 5th bowler who is only wonderful so our attack is a bit blunt at the moment.

Are they a renamed team or a recent riser? Never heard of them before.

As for my game, I have no idea who I am playing, never looked. Set up a default side for FC and OD with my new duds and looking forward to a transfer market dip at some point in the next 16 weeks.

Crantock v BATTY SHRIMPERS

Well after hanging on for a draw in FC (9 down for the last 13 balls), we now face Crantock in OD. He's been on an International buying spree, purchasing 6 Test players. However the rest are all total jubs, so we might have a chance.

Andres battling innings has left him at Invigorated, so we're a batter down. GFIthough as we have a BOT on Sunday.

Peruvian Farmers v DIBS DIPPERS

Tough game for Mrs BB to start with, but she'll be bouyed by her win in FC against the team that relegated in to her division. Full strength side out on a GFI as she also has a BOT on Sunday. PF won their FC game in 2 days, she might have a slight fitness edge., and they won both games between ther 2 last season, albeit by just 12 and 9 runs. Will be another close game I think.

Rascal Animals -vs- General Stars

Got one of the GM's sides and they arent great and i'd imagine they will be going straight back down, unless Muse saves his money all season !

Got a wicket in the first over but its sunny and a H&F pitch so cant see me getting them out cheapily!

The team that came down, should be a pretty even game.

Big Hitters v Southend United

We can tell you that Southend United won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking a cracker! Hard and fast - should be a run-fest out there on this sunny day.

Let’s join our team for ball-by-ball commentary.

End of Over 4: 24-0, runrate=6.00
Sura 2-0-14-0
Marney* 13 (14 balls)
Ray 11 (10 balls)

Recent riser by the looks of things. Last season was their first in II and they didn't get to III until Season 16. Got a 34yo ex international all rounder but only 7 players above 100k so I'm hoping my deeper squad will win the day. Steady start for the bowlers.

End of Over 4: 9-0, runrate=2.25
Gulzar 2-1-5-0
Dagnall* 5 (8 balls)
Richards 4 (16 balls)

They only bat to 5 but our flaccid attack can't take advantage.

End of Over 21: 89-0, runrate=4.24
Graham 4-1-20-0
Dagnall* 53 (66 balls)
Richards 33 (61 balls)

End of Over 26: 98-2, runrate=3.77
Deane 3-0-19-0
Sheepy* 18 (36 balls)
Jacobs 43 (63 balls)

Last Wicket: Hayden c. Ndungane b. Ikramullah 36 (FOW: 58/2

Nads gets his first wicket for the club. Important one too, a £145k wage pure batsman.

End of Over 30: 117-2, runrate=3.90
Nadeeka 5-1-19-1
Glasser* 13 (16 balls)
Hone 2 (10 balls)

Last Wicket: Dagnall c. Lamey b. Nadeeka 63 (FOW: 109/2)

Tough going against an opening attack with a combined wage of 1,384,000, backed up by a 510k pw and 480k pw, along with some jub earning 7k. Stuck one of the trainees into open, and he stuck around for 26 balls whilst scoring 0 runs, but did a great job. Need to take advantage of the 5th bowlers last 5 overs now.

Crantock v BATTY SHRIMPERS

Crantock won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 32: 92-2, runrate=2.88
Mcclen 6-0-31-0
Nagendranath* 38 (63 balls)
Downing 49 (91 balls)

Last Wicket: Ary b. Azher 0 (FOW: 9/2)

Mrs BB going very well.

Peruvian Farmers v DIBS DIPPERS

DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 32: 105-5, runrate=3.28
Eagles 6-0-28-1
Sohail* 3 (10 balls)
Keates 7 (22 balls)

Last Wicket: Qayyum lbw b. Kealey 6 (FOW: 100/5)

currently 213-0 off 32 overs against what I can only presume is another newly promoted side.

Enjoying it while I can, i've a feeling later games will get a tad tricky!

Charlie gets the big all rounder, one more wicket and we're into an extensive tail of trainee batsmen and bowlers.

End of Over 34: 132-3, runrate=3.88
Charl 7-1-29-1
Hone* 11 (21 balls)
Norris 0 (4 balls)

Last Wicket: Glasser lbw b. Charl 17 (FOW: 132/3)

End of Over 42: 155-3, runrate=3.69
Deane 9-0-36-0
Fletcher* 33 (57 balls)
Jacobs 65 (101 balls)

Last Wicket: Sheepy b. Ikramullah 18 (FOW: 98/3)

End of Over 12: 54-0, runrate=4.50, reqrunrate=4.97 (242-4)
Gichki 1-0-3-0
Overton* 34 (43 balls)
Wilkes 20 (29 balls)

Took a while to break that last partnership but once we did the wickets tumbled. The reply is going very much to plan thankfully.

End of Over 15: 78-1, runrate=5.20, reqrunrate=3.71 (207-9)
Hone 3-0-20-0
Guneratne* 27 (29 balls)
Sinethemba 43 (44 balls)

Last Wicket: Lamey st. Norris b. Glasser 8 (FOW: 29/1)

Did well to muster as much as 177, but we're getting a right shallacking in reply. It's a shame as he only bats down to 5, but looks like he's going to have way too much for us.

Crantock v BATTY SHRIMPERS

Crantock won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 16: 92-1, runrate=5.75, reqrunrate=2.53 (177-4)
Locke 3-0-21-0
Bian* 46 (45 balls)
Azher 7 (5 balls)

Last Wicket: Bernard st. Evelyn b. Wilkey 36 (FOW: 71/1)

------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB on course for victory.

Peruvian Farmers v DIBS DIPPERS

DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 19: 94-1, runrate=4.95, reqrunrate=1.48 (139-10)
Qayyum 6-1-23-0
Titterton* 56 (50 balls)
Hutton 23 (41 balls)

Last Wicket: Stride c & b. McDermott 14 (FOW: 34/1)

Not going quite as planned!

Coyne 3-0-9-0
Deane* 41 (51 balls)
Browne 25 (40 balls)

Last Wicket: Sookram lbw b. Lovatt 1 (FOW: 23/2)

We're slowing down quite a lot but should be fine.

End of Over 34: 143-1, runrate=4.21, reqrunrate=4.06 (207-9)
Acton 7-1-29-0
Sinethemba* 81 (107 balls)
Guneratne 52 (80 balls)

Last Wicket: Lamey st. Norris b. Glasser 8 (FOW: 29/1)
