Notting Hill Carnival

Ricky Otto

President⭐
I know a lot of people are swerving the carnival this year, a lot of people who go every year seem to be saying they aren't going to risk it this year as there is a very bad vibe around it. I hope I'm wrong but reckon on Tuesday we could be seeing a lot in the papers. There has been a big crackdown from the police in Caribbean neighbourhoods in the run up and tensions with the police seem high. Plus there seems to be big concerns about acid attacks as well

The annual farce. No doubt the usual stabbings and muggings will be overshadowed by supposedly heavy handed policing. What we all think, a dozen, two maybe?

We should run a book. Winner gets to be all smug for a week while everyone else can blame whoever they fancy.

Just the 300 arrests and 28 police officers injured this year, then... if it wasn't an event 'celebrating multiculturalism' then it would've been banned by now.

I went on Monday and the atmosphere was brilliant

Will admit by 6 pm, I was glad to leave, as perhaps the drink maybe in full flow, but otherwise a great day out.

Believe Sunday is more of a family day, but a great day of fun and festive culture

I've sen more arseholes at Wembley throwing beer around whilst standing on tables celebrating Southend getting there and feeling more intimidated than I did at Notting Hill

Were there 300 arrests and 28 police injured at Wembley as well? What about the acid attacks, were there any of those at Wembley? Do tell.

I think that one of the reasons there are so few arrests at football is that there are very few police in the stadia as clubs employ their own security. It may also be that the Police are more tolerant at football matches. I see plenty of things in and around grounds that under normal circumstances would lead to an arrest.

Don't also forget the numbers of people involved. Even Wembley only holds around 80,000. NHC has nearer a million people attending.

Not that I know, but then again, I didn't see anyone drinking outside a pub and getting a kicking so that he may never live a normal life again, and having fiends who where there but innocent

Sensational overtime for the police though. My brother-in-law got to spend the weekend away from my sister AND absolutely coin it in.

Oh, huge surprise, comparing a isolated incident to an annual event. Tell me, as you want to use comparisons, how many people have been stabbed to death at a Southend United match, as a comparision of course.

While we are about it and as you want to use comparisions, how many have been raped at Southend United in comparision to the Notting Hill Carnival? What about arrested for drugs, assaulting police officers, muggings, theft, criminal damage, sexual assault, you know as a comparison.

Me, for one, as I was a season ticket holder during the Alan Little tenure
