Cobblers feel 'unbeatable' at home
Forward Colin Larkin has warned Southend United that the Cobblers feel 'unbeatable' at home.
Town have lost just once at Sixfields this season, and have beaten the last four teams to visit there. Last weekend they even managed to break their away duck with a 1-0 win at Oldham Athletic.
It's a run of results that has seen the confidence in the Cobblers camp go through the roof.
"We look unbeatable at home," said Larkin. "At home we seem to be able to put the ball in the back of the net and keep it tight at the other end.
"Southend have been playing really well and we know we're going to be in for a tough test. But at the same time we've been doing great at home and this won't be an easy place for them to come to and get a result.
"I like to think we've been doing well enough to fancy our chances of going into that game and getting a result."
Larkin confirmed the first away win of the season had come as something of a relief to the squad, especially as they came so close to it in the draws they took at Leyton Orient and Tranmere.
And Larkin has hinted that the reason for the delay in picking up a first victory on their travels may be a psychological issue for the team.
"We've being doing very well away from home but the results haven't really been going or way so to get that first win was great last week," he said. "Perhaps it's a bit of a mental thing because we're not actually playing any differently when we go away.
"We've now shown we go grind out a result, though."
