Noooo! Pt 2

My keeper got injured on Sunday and my reserve got injured today. That leaves me with approximately no keeper coverage.

My next best is my only qulaity outfield player so it's unlikely he'll hop in.

What do we reckon I should do? I reckon there's three options.

a) Sod him and the other keeper. Stick the coach in goal. Frankly, next team up are so poor that your HT tool reckons you'll win 7-0.

b) Buy a keeper in. let's be honest, the sub isn't up to much. In fact, first choice is hardly a stunner. Get a quality guy in.

c) Wait til the weekend and promote a youngster. He might be crap but at least he'll eb a guaranteed specialist keeper.

Just buy a inadiquate/passable keeper, shouldn't be too much, but if they are really poor, I wouldn't bother.

A decent game for me in the cup against superior opposition.

The Shrimpers - January Sales 3 - 2

View game: HT Live
Date: 05/09/2006 at 21.00
MatchID: 94822720
Arena: Roots Hall
Crowd: 52000

52000 spectators had come to Roots Hall this cloudy day. Shrimpers decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Lineup: Meima - Devriendt, Thestrup, Azabache - Sheil, Puente, Börjesson, Feraud, Farndale - Morais, Furlan.

January had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Starters: Sánchez - Molbeck, Åhlbo, Ivic - Kilsgaard, Peak, Bostic, Weik, Guilpain - Gwerder, Hawkesford.

Shrimpers mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. January clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. David Bostic of January was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. Slack defending gave Shrimpers a chance to take the lead in the 6th minute, but Tommy Thestrup's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition. The referee showed January's Björn Åhlbo the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. In the 17th minute, Jackie Farndale came in on the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to put away the 1 - 0 goal, giving Shrimpers the lead. The home team will be cursing Björn Åhlbo for weeks; he finished off a great pass from the left, knocking it past the keeper without a problem, tying the score at 1 - 1 in the 26th minute. It was 1 - 1 at the break. This half belonged to Shrimpers, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.

David Bostic behaved like an inexperienced youth player in the 54th minute as he gave the ball away to an opponent. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. Virgílio Morais gave his Shrimpers the lead with 2 - 1, as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then placed the ball unreachably at the keeper's right post. Some brilliant football from the visitors' right wing resulted in a 69th minute levelling of score as January's David Bostic put the ball in the net for 2 - 2. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Shrimpers, with an impressive 54 percent possession of the ball.

As neither team had managed to win, extra time was called. Shrimpers fans held their breath as Nathan Feraud scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the go-ahead goal for 3-2! With that Shrimpers had won the game in extra time. The most dominating Shrimpers player was without a doubt Nel Furlan. Carlo Sheil turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating January player was without a doubt Björn Åhlbo. Ivan Ivic on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 2.

I did MOTS and managed my highest ever hatstats with 194. Now to expand my ground to 60,000 and to bring in a new winger.

Lost 2-1, a bit disappointed as it's probably due to me taking the risk of playing a wing trainee at wing back and him pulling one star.

Got through easily enough.

Next up is a div.IV team playing 4-4-2 with a fantastic defence but seemingly not much else. I'm trying to figure out whether to play 3-5-2 or 3-4-3.

has that got my hatstats in?

One of my defenders who was supposed to pop in two weeks and then be sold got injured in my friendly and will be out for 3 or 4 weeks.
