Non-SUFC Transfer deadline chat

Thought I'd make a thread for other deals going through.

Keep an eye on this one for one of the most unbelievable deals in recent history...

Benjani >> Notts County. Had a medial at Hull today, turned them down last minute to sign elsewhere. Expecting this to be announced tomorrow.

Could also see Martin Petrov, Niko Krancjar and David James sign for Spurs, with Bentley going to City as part of the Petrov deal.

Gonna be another fun day! (except for SUFC).

Apparently Man City's Richard Dunne is signing for Pompey for £5mil and the BBC says it is a "99.9% done deal"

:D
Best rumour of the day!!!

From Simon, via text on 81111: "I work for Clarks and have just been requested to send some size 10 shoes to our shop in Liverpool. As I'm sure you know, David Villa is a size 10 so I believe he will sign for Liverpool today."

David Nugent is apparently resigning for Preston.
Franck Ribery has been seen a lot in London this weekend apparently and has been saying that his relationship with the Munich manager is the worst he's ever had with a manager leading to rumours a £57mil move to Chelsea is on the cards

That sounds like the Louis van Gaal we know and love. van Gaal probably doesn't like Ribery because he's French.

£57m is a ludicrous sum of money, though - he's never worth that.

* * *

The Benjani story is hilarious though - especially when you think that Notts County lost at Underhill last weekend. Come on Barnet!

:D

Carlos Vela signing for Fulham on a season long loan from Arsenal to be announced shortly

Apparently there will be a big transfer to the north west but no one is quite sure who it is but Liverpool, Everton and Man City are all looking to sign someone before 5pm this evening

League 1 Transfers on deadline day: (according to BBC so subject to major alteration)

Leigh Bromby [Sheffield United - Leeds] Undisclosed
David Button [Tottenham - Crewe] (loan extension)
Aaron Davies [Nottingham Forest - Brighton] Loan
Luke Holden [Rhyl - Charlton] Loan
Clayton McDonald [Manchester City - Walsall] Loan
Danny Schofield [Yeovil - Millwall] Loan
Davide Somma [unattached - Leeds] Free
Alex Revell [Southend - Swindon] - Loan
Kevin Betsy [Southend - Wycombe] - Loan

Only one cash purchase and Leeds have plenty of money after a profit last season and £6/7 million whatever it was for Delph.

What a complete let down transfer deadline day was today, even taking Southend out of the picture.

A massive lack of transfers today, and when you take another Collins going to Villa and Collins going to Stoke as two of the biggest deals you have to be disappointed.

One thing I did notice today. Portsmouth signed Mike Williamson from Watford for around £3million. We had a bid turned down for him from Wycombe in the January transfer window before he signed for Watford. £3m in the bank would have been very handy for us.
