Noel Hunt: Why I chose to join Southend United

Come on mrsblue and kev29, we get what you're saying and we are now in danger of this thread being repetitive without adding any value. If Hunt choses to release a statement telling us a bit more about the transfer, then that's up to him. You can choose to believe it or not, comment and then move on.

I'm currently sitting in the Conrad, St James park....you would be surprised who is in there....

Message for the owners - this site is becoming a farce. Every new topic being hijacked with repetitive pathetic posts. I would be interested to know why you let this continue. It is an injustice to what was once a brilliant fans forum.

Spot on and it's more than one poster imho, suggest that you do as I do and use the ignore function, life is much sweeter now!!

We have never assessed the mental capabilities of members when they join the Zone.

If people are repetitive but not abusive then that's fine, but if anyone oversteps the mark we do take action to stop them.

You can always put the member(s) you do not like on "Ignore"

Ken, but then you get all the responses to the drivel the Troll posts.

Shrimperzone has become pretty much unreadable of late.

Be a sweetie, and do something about it.

If people want to PM me or Cricko with complaints, not just personal grievances , we will consider what action to take.

No to censorship! Please, just humour the trolls. FM13 and XXXXLLL were far worse.

So why did Noel Hunt choose to join Southend? The echo article wouldn't open on my work PC. I've read through 4 pages here and I'm still none the wiser.

who said that?

I tried that but too many are quoted so it gets through the system anyway despite the "ignore" stuff; and it doesn't stop them sending messages on a post you (me) put on.
At the moment it is a mild irritant but it does #### me off when those persons post all sorts of **** about matches they haven't been arsed to go and watch AND smother the proper match reports stuff.

NOEL Hunt chose Southend United instead of Chicago in order to be able to work with Blues boss Phil Brown.
The 32-year-old striker has now completed a switch to the Shrimpers, making his debut in yesterday’s 1-0 defeat to Leyton Orient at Roots Hall.
And Hunt revealed it was the persuasive powers of Brown which meant he plumped to join Blues ahead of the new season.
“The manager was really keen to bring me in and everyone I spoke to in the game had really good things to say about him,” said Hunt.
“I obviously spoke to my brother (Stephen) who worked with the manager when he was at Hull and he told he was the best he has ever worked with.
“When people are telling you things like that you want to be a part of it yourself and my wife’s family only live 60 miles up the road as well so everything seemed to make sense really and I’m pleased to be here now.”
Hunt has signed an initial year long deal, with the option of a further 12 months at the end of the season.
But the Irishman knows it will take time for him to find his best form for Blues.
“I was good to get back out there against Orient but it was my first game since February so of course I’m a little bit rusty,” said Hunt.
“I’ll work hard to get up to speed and I’ve been impressed by the football the lads play here so I’m looking forward to getting involved.
“I know David Mooney from when I was at Reading and the rest of the lads have made me feel welcome straight away which is great.”
And Hunt, who has also played for Ipswich Town and Leeds United, had no qualms about stepping down into League One with the Shrimpers.
“I was talking to someone the other day who said he wouldn’t have gone down into League One 10 years ago but that he would now because of the quality that’s in it,” said Hunt.
“I think Premier League players are now going down into the Championship and League One is full of Championship players so it’s a good level and I’m keen to do well for the club.”
Hunt will go straight into contention to start at Fleetwood Town in the opening game of the League One season this Saturday.
And Blues boss Brown is delighted to finally have him on board.
“I think it’s the most long drawn out transfer I’ve ever been involved in and there were times I thought Noel wouldn’t sign so I’m very happy he’s come in,” said Brown.
“We saw against Orient how he works defenders and has a never say die attitude.
“That kind of mentality is priceless and he’s got a good touch and spring.
“He missed a good chance and he apologised for that but I’m sure he will get goals for us.
“He will have a tough week in training but he’s certainly staked a claim to start at Fleetwood."

yes this is all 110% true...:nope:

Totally agree. Half the threads on here get ruined by one person who clearly has more than one account now....and nothing to do all day.

Noel Hunt if you read these threads please ignore the threads from MrsBlue as he/she is very vindictive as now you have pushed her/his love child a further notch down the pecking order.:hilarious:
