Noel Hunt: Why I chose to join Southend United

Another player to quote Phil Brown as one of the main reasons they join the club.

I think the Brown Out Brigade need to have a long hard look at themselves and maybe admit to being wrong on our "clueless" & "negative" manager and that no striker wants to play for us because of his tactics? We have managed to trade a sulky Barry Corr for a motivated Noel Hunt.....fantastic bit of business.

Praise goes to Phil & Ron on this one.

I did think it would say a lot about Phil if Hunt signed or didn't as he would undoubtedly speak to his brother who played under PB at Hull.

All is good then...

Of course, I'm sure it had nothing to do with Chicago Fire cooling their interest in him to sign Gilberto once Toronto put him on waivers...

Shhh

Some on here believe Noel's version.

Regardless of anything, if his brother would have said not to sign because PB is crap, he wouldn't have signed. The truth is probably something in the middle, but he wouldn't have signed if he had heard bad things about PB.

Or

No other club wanted him ?

I think a lot of people forget what Phil has achieved in the game and some of the people he had worked with. I've always thought we are lucky to have him as manager and stick by that.

It could be, be I doubt that would have been the case. If his brother (or other people) would have said PB is awful, don't sign, he wouldn't have. Don't forget, there was at least one other club that did want him.

As I said, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle of he had no other offers (although we know that wasn't the case) and PB is the best manager ever.

I reckon the truth is his agent circulated his availability to every club and had zero interest,Noel hasn't played since February which probably put most chairman off,Noel then signs here and pays lip service to Phil, after all if Phil is that highly rated by him,why take so long in signing?

Its obvious, he was waiting to hear those words that you memorably uttered "Noel is now our player and he will have my 100% support".

Believe what you will, but we know that isn't the case because there was more than zero interest.

Poor mrsblue. Spends all summer quoting players who whinged about PB's tactics, now someone has given him high praise in the press and he accuses them of lying. Your tedious campaign against all things associated with PB/RM is becoming embarrassing for other fans.

Name me the other clubs, apart from Chicago !

You seem to access to most players wages, contacts, their likes and dislike, their preferred formation and what type of training is their preference. I believe you if you say no one else wanted Hunt, you are never wrong.

Clueless man.

Thanks Berk !

I too remember those memorable words from MrsBlue. It must surely mean the end of threads becoming bogged down with her every post being a rehash of an earlier post using slightly different words. Hurrah!
