Nintendo Wii

did anyone get one? Your views?

Had the chance to buy one, and didn't, now they're on ebay for £300 + first thing this morning some were going at £550 when they retail at £179!!! nice bit of profit.

anyways if anyone did get their mitts on one then is it any good?

I'll go for the Nintendo after the fan on the PS2 packs in. I like the idea of using the controller as a sword/wand/club/whatever.

Graphics are on par with the PS1 and consiquently I can't see many hard core gamers going for it. Nintendo have deliberately designed and marketed the Wii at a new breed of gamers that are not really worried about the graphics qualities or content of games such as Gears of War on the 360.

I'll give it a miss I think.

i don't really think the wii is that good really. its another kids xmas present that they will get bored of in a few weeks.

the only console i really like is ps2, can't wait for the ps3. look amasing

I'm still happy playing Missile Command, Defender and Astro Blaser

Not to mention Manic Miner, Forbidden Forest and Beach Head!

My Sega Megadrive is still as good as always!

Well it's been a blessing in disguise that the PS3 was delayed to next year, apart from the above average Resistance the rest of the launch games are mediocre at best, diabolical at worst whereas Zelda on Wii has been widely acclaimed as the best launch game of any console ever (but still lacking when compared to previous Zelda games).

It'll be interesting to see what the Wii will be capable of graphics wise, Zelda itself being designed originally for the Gamecube accounts for the subpar graphics compared to the 360. Think I'll stick to my PC for the forseeable future though.

I *love* nintendo. Only ever had nontendo consoles.
Will invest in a Wii in the new year... will keep chugging on the gamecube for now - awesome!

I saw a website where people had posted pics of their smashed tellies. the wii controller has a strap that had a tendency to slip off thus sending your wii controller hurtling towards the screen if you get too over zealous with your movements

I only purchased a Playstation 2 to play the Pro Evolution games.

Apart from that it was Nintendo (and Sega) all the way for me.

XBox? I wouldn't have one in the house.

Same here!

Only own two games, Pro Evo and a tennis game.

Nintendo seem to always market for the younger gamer which was why I hated the N64.

This new thing just looks like a gimmick, all fuss and nonsense.

Who on earth wants to stand in their living room pretending to play tennis or something ? Fools thats who!

Surprised its selling as well as it is to be honest.

Can you imagine playing Goldeneye on the Wii? No more need for dodgy lightguns that cost a packet or crud controllers, cause the Wii comes with a lock-on feature as standard.
