Just had a chat with someone very high up at Nottingham Forest. Can confirm that they are indeed interested in Mark Gower. However when I asked how likely it was the reply was "Not very likely". So if he is indeed off I doubt it will be to Forest now. Of course he would be going nowhere at all, have to wait and see I suppose.
 
I'd say of all the clubs linked to him, Swansea would be the more likely to capture him. With Andy Robinson gone to Leeds and Ferrie Bodde being courted by Derby they'll need a replacement, and Gower fits the bill.
 
Hope we can hold on to him, IMO he is one of our most influential players, not only that we need to keep some semblance of our old 'core' team that has been with us for a few seasons now, especially with the departure of Maher, one of the last of our old guard. New blood is essential but a total clearout is not going to help us get promoted next season.
 
I cant see Gower going to Forest or Swansea, if he didn't have to move so far with maybe a move to Ipswich or something that would be a more realistic possibility, i'm confident Gower will be a Southend player come the start of next season.
 
Courtney Pìne just released by Cambridge...sounds like our next left winger
 
Dont want Gower to leave, even though he frustrates me soo much when he lets the ball roll under his foot, but he still comes up with the goods more often than not.
