Who on Earth wants to go watch us play against a soulless under 21 side. The boycott stays until the long term goal of allowing under 21 sides into leagues one and two is totally dead and buried.

Will be boycotting the games against B teams again as it is an insult to Southend United to be forced to play someone's reserves.

Why don't they give a better incentive then a wembley visit (and a share of monies).
When the Europa cup was being panned, they incentivised it with a spot in the Champtions Leage.
Why not give the winners of EFL cup a bye into the fourth or fifth round of the next season's League cup, or something similar.

Because done on here would complain that this-
made a mockery of the league cup
meant less revenue as we wound undoubtedly go out at the first game loosing the revenue we normally get from a cup run ( I see a flaw here somewhere).

Disappointed but not surprised there have been so littlechanges in the completion so my position reminds the same with no gamesattended. Unless of course we reach the final as could not miss a tripto Wembley. :winking:

Great, two cheap Tuesday night home games in 9/10th empty stadium.
The run out of a few fringe players.
Maybe we will be grouped with Col Ewe and Spam kids?

I understand them that want to boycott it AND I hope they won't put multiple postings up of the same stuff as last season because I have read them post, respect them etc but............

Great opportunity for our young lads to prove themselves against PL pups, as Kyprianou did. Ferdinand eased himself in v Brighton an Fortune scored his first goal v Orient. Timlin forced his way back in by putting in a decent shift at Stevenage and then had a great day at Bury on the Saturday when he helped create 3 of our 4 goals.

The new rules should allow us to play more youngsters so I'm all for it as its a big step up from under 21 fixtures. Even if a lot of fans don't see it that way. Last time a group of six of us had one of the meal deals and a seat in the directors for about £20....Good night and cheaper than a curry.

rigsby i usually disagree with almost everything you write on here but this time i wholeheartedly concur with your sentiment on this .... Also who could forget Oxford away , young super sub Dan Bentley saving those penalties - he never looked back from that boost and look at him now !!!

+ Why on earth would we want to shun away from what is easily our best chance of silverware and a Wembley final too ?

Bring it on ................

You must have missed the bit about keeping B teams in it then.

Nope! As rigbsy said, it gives the youngsters/fringe players a chance to prove themselves & gives some vital competitive minutes to players who might not be up to 100% fitness. An increase in prize money for lower league clubs is no bad thing either.

Whilst I wholeheartedly disagree with any suggestion allowing the U-21's into the FL pyramid - the competition is a win-win for PL youngsters gaining experience / putting themselves in the shop window for a loan move as well as us for the points stated above.

Just my personal opinion.
