NEWS FROM YEOVIL

SUFCFARAWAY

Guest
News coming out of Yeovil is that Jevons is unsettled by Dave Webb and the signing of his son to the club.Jevons is reported to be unhappy of the way Webb is running certain aspects of the club and how his son can just walk into the club after only being on trail for a very short period. He is to talk to the board within the next 48 hours and is expected to hand in a transfer request. Yeovil will not stand in his way because they do not want players at the club who will upset the rest of the team. It looks like Jevons could be snapped for as little as 100K.

the source is via a insurance broker I deal with. He is a yeovil fan and is a good friends with a guy called Carl Mether (thinks that how the surname is spelt). He is, apparently (key word here), good friends with Jevons. Jevons spoke to Carl who in turn spoke to this broker. Who in turn spoke to me knowing I am a Southend man and wonderd what I thought. I then posted what I was told on here. So once again it isn't a very good source but still seems to hold more truth than postman pat's cat's furry mouse toy.Guess we will find out if it is true when and if Jevons hands in the transfer request.

To be honest i dont think we have any chance of getting Phil Jevons, If he leaves Yeovil it will be to go to Bristol City to see his old boss Gary Johnson, .... I would glady eat my hat if he did sign for us.

See my topic of "Another striker sign ....." which I said about the future of Jevons & what he thought of arrival of Danny Webb. God! I was correct for once

dont get me wrong, its not that i dont believe you i just like to see some form of written source so i can assess its validity myself. il believe anyone until i have good reason not to. jevons would be a good signing - potentially good enough to play in championship. i just dont think tilly will sign him - i dont think he was one of his original targets and i dont think he will sign him on the basis that he may be available at a good price

jevons isn't championship class, we have 3 quality league 1 strikers and jimmy lawson who can do the job for us this season... i dont see a huge panic in getting a striker in who isnt really much better than what we have got.

Yeah don't worry shrimprman - you are like me - would like to see it in black and white. Like most rumours this transfer window most have came to nothing so we will just have to wait and see. It also depends on where he wants to move to as well. Sure if he handed in his request there will be a dozen clubs after him

What not even with Agogo now tied down on a long-term deal & both Holt & Knight (& possibly Fallon too) now with League One rivals?

Even Hayter looks like a long-shot if he doesn't want to move to a team that far from Dorset.

Always remember it's Tilson's signings but Ron's money so he has a say in it and with the Webb connection anything is possible. I wonder if someone like Jay Smith could go in part exchange?

Yeovil sold a midfielder to Hearts so may need one.

I think Webb liked Jay.

Possible but unlikley a couple of injuries or suspensions could hit us hard in the middle of the park if Jay left. think we had the optimum number for midfield at the moment. But then again I ain't Tilly.

sorry i shouldve have clarified that - i dont think that was one of tillys original targets for this transfer window. i dont think he will sign jevons as, if my theory is correct he hasnt been scouting jevons and he, nor ron would want to risk what i imagine would be a large percentage of there budget on a player they have not been watching on a regular basis obviously we have played against jevons a few times in recent years so tilly knows what he is all about.

however, now that, as you stated, a few of our, maybe 'more likely targets' have been captured by other clubs or now deemed unavailable, tillys original list will have to change. so to answer your question, yes i think tilly may now be in the market for the likes of agogo et al.

obviously this is only my theory or opinion, as a fan with no knowledge of what tilly is thinking and therefore it could be way off the mark. i just thought id better explain myself! lol

.....but I can confirm that Jevons is a player that Tilly is VERY keen on. However I also think he will end up at Bristol City as they will offer him double what we can afford.

do you mind if i don't watch this space all day? i've got to go to st marys and get tickets for saints ipswich game, and i suppose i should go to uni at some point!
