New titles to make jobs more important...

Vange Shrimper

Mrs Rock God
Read in the paper the other week that some companies are using new titles for jobs to make them sound more important such as:

Stock Prevention Officer = Security Guard
Information Advisor = Librarian

Just heard another one, which I though sounded daft:

Geospatial Applications Advisor = Mapper

Now, why can't we just have the original names for jobs and stop making up new ones to replace them?

Tell you what employer, forget giving me a fancy job title to compensate for the fact I'm not getting a payrise. Instead make my official title 'Office Pondlife', even print that on my business cards, and give me a 20% pay rise to compensate...thank you very much.
