AGGRESSIVE TAKEOVER AT SHRIMPERZONE

It can now be revealed that the real reason for the absence of ShrimperZone, the popular Southend United supporters forum, was due to a takeover mounted by one of Ron Martin's newly formed companies.
In a Press release, Mr Martin emphasised the importance of a close relationship between the club and its supporters. He believed that the acquisition of SZ was going to be an important way of keeping in contact with the fan base and informing them fully of all new developments. He also went on to promise new investment in the site and declared that he would make SZ a forum of which the fans would be very proud. Geoffrey King is being brought in as Chief Liaison Officer and he was said to be delighted to have the opportunity to concrete the good relations he had formed with the fans during his period on the Board.
Mr Martin was also happy to bring in Manager Paul Sturrock as Creative Planning and Development Officer for the site. He stated that Paul's tactics often didn't seem to be fully understood by the fans and this would give him the opportunity explain them clearly and logically in a language that everyone could understand. To this end Luggy himself is delighted to announce that Bilel Mohsni has accepted to serve as translator for all future interviews.
In conclusion Ron Martin revealed that he would be the sole moderator of the site but was adament that this would not restrict a full and frank exchange of views between the club and its supporters. At the same time Mr Martin said, that the supporters had responsibilities towards the club, management and players. I'm sure they will understand that negativity could have an effect on Morale and confidence and consequently, nothing that could be constrewed as cricism of players, manager or Club will be allowed. Further, he added that there will be no discussion allowed, appertaining to either his many companies or to the new stadium. He expressed the opinion that everyone would understand there were some very sensitive issues at stake here and that simple fans could not possibly understand the compexity of the negotiations taking place. Rest assured that supporters will be kept fully informed of of all devolpments, when it was deemed appropriate to divulge the information. The complete lack of news at the moment should CERTAINLY NOT lead fans to the assumption that nothing is happening.

Your article fails at the start. Martin can't afford jack **** , let alone the Zone ---- we would not sell for less than £2,000,000. Unlucky.
