Matt Harrold
Squad Number: 20
Playing Position: Forward
First Club: Harlow Town
Date Of Birth: 25th July 1984
Age: 21
Previous Club: Brentford
Yeovil Town Debut: 9th August 2005
Nickname/Chant: Harry
Matt Harrold is a tall powerful centre forward who joined Yeovil Town from Brentford in June 2005 as Gary Johnson continued to build his squad in readiness for the new season. 6'3" Matt was born in Essex in 1984, and although spending most of his career with Brentford actually started life at Harlow Town from where he joined the Bees on a free transfer in 2003. He went on to make 15(24) appearances for the London club scoring 5 goals before going out on loan to Conference side Dagenham and Redbridge at the end of last year where he scored 1 goal from 4 appearances. He was then loaned out to Grimsby Town for a month where he made 6 starts scoring 2 goals. Matt is a young player of huge potential, and he certainly seems to fit the bill as a potential foil for Phil Jevons on the Glovers’ front line. He has experience of League One too, so should prove a good addition to the squad, and one who as he grows in stature could well turn out to be a real star. Certainly with the amount of crosses that the team get into the opposition penalty area he should score plenty of goals.
I was in Yeovil today and the story is doing the rounds, The 'Webb' connection.
