New Sponsors Needed For Next Season ?

Harry Bullocks

Am I reading this morning's news right in that c2c are being nationalised in May of next year?
Wonder how or indeed if, this will affect the sponsorship of the club?

Is being a shirt sponsor for Southend the kiss if death? I'm sure there's been a couple of companies at least that are no longer in business.

Bit of a shame as c2c for me is a pretty good sponsor. And the video for the shirt unveiling was pure 😗 🤌

So with the news that Labour plan to nationalise both the C2C and Greater Anglia lines I assume that we'll be looking for a new Sponsor for next season?

How long was the exisiting deal agreed for?

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

See post #2.

SWR and GA I can understand as both have been crap for a long time. C2C surprises me though - have consistently been up near the top of the reliability tables as far as I can recall.

Not about how good they are. Not wanting to get political but just stating facts the current government wishes to take the rail companies back under contract as and when their contract ends or there is the option to break contract

C2C has moved from being a profitable company and giving cash to the govt pre COVID to loss making and requiring subsidy post COVID. Mentioned at the time I thought it was odd we were effectively sponsored by the tax payer (the irony of being chased by HMRC so many times!)

Greater Anglia is still providing cash to the govt. The only train company doing so post COVID. Not too surprising given the extortionate fares on GA.

If c2c is nationalised, then we will effectively be a government sponsored team like Man City.
Next stop europe !

At least I feel more confident thanks to COSU that we will manage to pay off our large debtors, albeit probably monthly
