New Sony Gizmo

Looks very nice - suprised that they're starting with just a 20GB hard drive - that's hardly enough for an MP3 player, let alone a video player...

Actually the average user of Mp3's only uses about 4GB , so 20's plenty .

If it supports MPEG4 then videos not going to be an issue.

Also best MP3 player at the moment is the Iriver (about £250 for 20GB !) Better then an IPOD

OK, so being a good 6-12 months behind the bleeding edge of technology, I was thinking of getting an iPod whilst out in the US this summer ('cos it's a feck of a sight cheaper than getting them in the UK).

However, do I detect a certain amount of scepticism in the posts above as to the fact that the iPod may now no longer be the gizmo du choix, ou du jour?

If so, what should I be getting... bearing in mind that:

(a) I'm not into watching vids etc. whilst on the go;
(b) I love the idea of the iTunes (the FM transmitter which goes with the iPod, I believe).

What can I get which is the bizza? I've heard of the iRiver... does anyone know anything about those?

Any thoughts / advice appreciated.

Matt

have a look at www.aria.co.uk Matt for MP3 players - thing I like about that site is that each product has reviews/comments from people who have brought it and what they think. Its the only way I judge products nowadays, not magazine reviews who can be 'brought...'

Well if you love Itunes then its just the Ipod as none of teh others support it

. If you want good quality play back at a lovely price then Iriver series is good or the Creative Zen range (mind you teh Muvo 2 4GB is also good for the money with an FM radio and teh abilitey to upgrade later on upto about 135GB !)
