5. Gary Poole, the referee was Richard Poulain and I expect it was an insurance scam !

No 1 No idea. Not very good on players we didn't sign I'm afraid.

However a few interesting facts about Steve Phillips:
- he was the Football League's top goalscorer one season
- the season we signed him he actually played 48 League games in one season, due to us having more games left than Northampton at the time of his transfer.
- the season he joined he was only 3 goals short of being leading scorer despite only playing 18 games; the next three seasons he was leading scorer in each season scoring at least twice as many as anyone else managed in those seasons.

Off topic, but what a team we had in 1980/81 this is the PFA team that year at the awards

Didn't Barnard get sent off on his Spurs debut against the spammers. He played because Spurs' food had been 'sabataged' and most of the team were out with food poisoning.

And Kellock, Phillips and Little had SUFC links too

I always thought Ces Podd was a type of septic tank

The answer to 1) was Malcolm Poskett from Watford
The answer to 2) was former Shrimper Ken Price. The police had to separate them.
