New Kit (aka the wonky epaulettes kit)

dashman

Dash De Shrimper
Well, most of us by now have seen it, should we make a poll yet as a 'marmite test?'

What do you think?

Has it wonky epaulettes, a golf dimple front, too much lettering too near the top on the reverse? :puke

Is it kewl? Or does it just look ok on the players & not so on the fans? It's adventurous for sure but does it have you in the queue around the car park to grab one asap? :tumbleweed:

Will the red kit look better than the blue when they show it tomorrow? :O

Yeah I am hoping there is no return to yellow, mind you given the recent 'design' aspects I reckon they could make it work! :stupidme:

It's growing on me, though I don't see it going down as an all time favourite of mine - unless there's another league title in our near future. ;)

To be fair, this year's kit is nothing if not a bit different. There's less of a feeling (for me, anyway) that we're being asked to stump up another £40 for a minor modification.

I'm glad the pink lettering of Haart went, no offence to them, then I liked the silver on blue.

This design stems from Nike as similar designs for other clubs exist, I saw a Celtic kit with the same sort of design.

Well, having just had a fruitless trip down the club shop for one for my son, I guess that people do like them!

I quite liked it from the photos we saw. Then I saw a kid on the train this afternoon wearing it and it didn't look anywhere near as good. There's just too much going on.

That said, I reckon I'll have bought it by October.

Kay did the lad get one?

I'd laugh if the sizes had small & XXL left! Oh & shut up ha ha!

No, they only had bog standard s,m or l in adult sizes, apparently a new order is due in Monday, bit more choice in kids' sizes but he ain't that small! You would have thought with MTBD today they'd have made sure they had plenty of stock in.

I will be buying a training shirt, which looks like the shirt our home shirt should have been. Hopefully the 3rd kit will be better than the first two offered by the club!

I like it a lot, my favourite kit for a long time. Saw a kid wearing it in Leigh yesterday and it looked good. I'll probably get it this week.

i'm getting worried because i've found the longer I look at the new shirt the more disoriented and dizzy I become. The wonky shoulder bits leave my brain trying to favum the logic of the different sizes a bit like a chinese puzzle of a set of stairs where you follow them up but the elusion is you can never get to the top. Might have to watch next season with a bag over my head. Do the shirts come with a health warning sticker in them?

seen a geezer down southend hightstreet today in new shirt, had no 8 on the back with a i above it and a col u below a good use of nos and letters...

I have uncovered the logic of the 'wonkey' shoulders

Most of Nikes football clothing has been based on this template:

trainingtop.jpg

The curvy line thats across the shoulder is filled in blue one side and the line continues up to the neck....so they couldn't fill part of the other side in otherwise it means that design is furfilled........

that was the best way i could explain it :(

Duff information from the shop on Saturday, having got an XL one for the lad (thank you April!) at MTBD I have still not revised my initial reaction to the new kit - I still don't like it! Apart from the fact it's red, I much prefer the new away kit - at least it looks like a football kit.

Saw the red kit at MTBD and it just seem's we have gone from radical to safe in two kits!

I think the 3rd kit would be somewhere in between?

Having seen and worn the home kit yesterday, I would say the following:

1. it is comfortable to play in, although the XL seemed a little short in the body length
2. the design is growing on me (not literally)
3. but even with the airflow back panel, we were still dripping after the game.

the red kit looked great, but I only saw it on the Bluebelles, so my view might be clouded
